Parents have realized the importance of making their children independent by teaching them the need to finish household chores by themselves from an early age. Starting by telling children to clean their rooms and rewarding them, parents are slowly preparing them for the future with essential life skills. One of them is a mom on Facebook called Shaketha C. Marion, who has found an interesting method to prompt her kids to take part in chores and become responsible. She introduced "household jobs" that her kids would apply for like true professionals and get an allowance in return for their work.

The mom's idea might also help the kids learn financial management early on so that they become more responsible with their money. "So, my children continue to ask for a new cell phone, an allowance and to go places. Yesterday, I told them that I'd heard their requests and that I'd have a surprise for them today when they get home from school," Marion expressed in the caption of her post. "SURPRISE! It's a whole hiring event! If you want it, work for it, earn it! And yes, I also have an in-home credit union, lol." The hiring event was complete with available vacancies and job descriptions and had an application form to fill out.

A big poster behind Marion in a series of photos read, "Now hiring!" with positions including one for "Kitchen Manager." The description read, "Will make sure that the kitchen stays clean at all times. Responsible for making sure that everyone washes their own dishes and puts them away." The next job was for a "Lead Housekeeper" who would be responsible for "The upkeep of the living room, hallway and bathroom." The description further added, "Also reminds living mates to pick up after themselves," among the tasks. The "Laundry Supervisor" would ensure that "Living mates keep their laundry clean and neatly put away. Will keep clean towels and washcloths in the bathroom." The mom even named her company, "This mom means Business Inc.," as a part of a fun learning activity for her kids.

The vacancies page requested that applicants fill out a form to be considered for any position. The "Application For Employment" asked for the person's name, age, and the position they were applying for. It had a section for "Other jobs held (home or school)" and asked if the person would be willing to work on some weekends. "What is your DESIRED pay rate salary?" the kids had to fill in. "If hired, when could you start," read another section. "Thank you for applying with This Mom Means Business Inc," the application concluded. There was also a "Mom's Credit Union" that Marion explained in detail. The description said, "Good credit? Bad credit? Need to build credit? Let mom start you off on a line of credit to help build your allowance as well as character."

She further added, "Making on-time contributions around the house can pay off big time!" In response to this creative idea, people took to the comments section to appreciate the mom's approach. Jacquelyn Bray wrote, "I hear ya! If they work for it, then they can see and appreciate what you sacrifice and go through for them and appreciate the award of their labor. I love it." Niccole Womble commented, "I love it! Awesome way to teach them responsibilities." Victoria Lett remarked, "Omg! Love this! I need this template for my teenage sons."
