Living is getting expensive every day. From food to electricity, prices of necessities are getting out of hand. To cover these costs, people often do extra shifts or cut down on their other expenditures. However, this woman came up with a creative idea to pay her bills. Kim—who goes by @budget.with.kim on TikTok—shared a video explaining that she charges her boyfriend every time he sleeps over at her place. While some welcomed her idea, some people did not agree with her approach.

In the 30-second video, she is seen counting money and says, "I charge my boyfriend $50 every time he sleeps over. This is to cover my expenses like rent, groceries and utilities that I will have to pay." She adds that he stays twice at her place that week. "So, I made an extra $100," she shares. She then shows a pink binder, which comes with 100 pockets where she stuffs the dollar amount she receives from her boyfriend. Then she says that once a person finishes the binder, they would have saved about $6,000.

She then says she has been doing this for the last 60 days. "So by the end, I could surprise my boyfriend with a nice holiday to Mexico this Christmas," she concludes. She captioned the video, "Do you think that this is fair?" Her views sparked a debate in the comments. @hijo_de_su_madr3 commented, "So, he should 'charge' for every date and then use that money for a ring." @ole_marius_svendesen wrote, "So, electricity is 1$ a night, food perhaps 5$, so where does the remaining 44$ goes to?"

@iamkenyaj expressed, "I’m so dead. So, essentially he’s paying for his own vacation. I’m not too mad at it lmao." @funn.ax31 said, "Do you split on dates? Do you stay over at his place? This could be fine if other expenses are split as well." @videopost22 commented, "I would never ever even think about wanting money from my partner to stay over, let alone make them pay." @tomtom33749 asked, "So if he stays the whole month with you, basically he pays all the house bills."

In another story, a man made his girlfriend sign up for a social etiquette class before introducing her to his family. The boyfriend wrote on Reddit that he has been dating his girlfriend for the last three months and they both felt it was time for them to meet their families. "The only problem is that she lacks the manners that my family typically expects from someone I'm in a relationship with. (My girlfriend is the first less-fortunate woman I'm dating). For that reason, I made the effort to prepare her for her first dinner with my family," he wrote. When he told her that he signed her up for these etiquette classes she became furious. She accused him of being embarrassed by her and told him that he should just marry a rich girl in that case. He asked people on the internet if he was wrong in signing her up for these classes.

u/drylenthiness5574 commented, "Just the way he talks about his girlfriend in the post shows how he feels. She's beautiful and interesting despite how she grew up. She's the first less fortunate person he's ever dated. Reading this just made me feel for her." u/hemenchua wrote, "You've basically just told her she's embarrassing. If you're concerned about the way your family will react to her, maybe she shouldn't meet them. It may be a better idea to talk to your family and tell them they need to get ready for a dose of reality because an actual person is about to enter their ivory tower."
