There aren't many people out there who are fond of bugs in their apartment buildings. But looks like one dead roach somehow managed to gain massive respect and a funeral from the residents of the building it was possibly terrorizing. Jessie Bettis, a stay-at-home mom who goes by @heyjessieyy on TikTok, shared a slideshow on her page capturing the funeral arrangements for the roach lying still on the carpeted floor. With the swipe of each slide, the funeral site started looking more chaotic as residents started adding random stuff and notes near the dead roach. The post managed to get over 8 million views and counting.

"When a roach died in the hallway of my building and the responses from people on my floor get more unhinged," the overlay text on the first slide read. Viewers can see the dead bug lying at a side and somebody had left a paper with a tombstone drawn on it. The next slide shows some pebbles circling the bug. The third slide has more additions to the site with people placing flowers and a cartoon picture of a roach dressed as a bandit on the wall. There is a $30,000 bounty on the other roach's name who is suspected of killing the hallway roach. Another picture shows a vote campaign note that calls the bug "Alfred Roacherson" and he will be running for the mayoral position.

The last few pictures on the slide get more hilarious as another handwritten paper note announces that The Beatles will be performing for the roach's memorial concert. A donation small basket has also arrived at the spot which prompted people to put in donations for the mayoral campaign. Bettis, who lives in Chattanooga, Tennessee, also had a chat with Newsweek, revealing how silly the whole arrangement was but she loved it. This displayed that the residents on her apartment floor had a great sense of humor.

"The signs were telling a story almost. First, of course, with the tombstone, and then a wanted poster. After that, a political sign and then The Beatles memorial concert, and last was the little basket of campaign donations," Bettis told the outlet. "We're supposed to be serious adults, but it reminded us that not everything in life has to be so serious all the time. It was also exciting to go out the door because we didn't know what was going to be there next. It was cool too because I never actually saw anybody adding to it, it was just there."

A few weeks later, Bettis found that the poor roach's funeral site had completely vanished overnight when the building's cleaning person possibly removed it. "It felt like we lost him all over again," she joked. "All the reactions have been extremely positive. People have been telling their own experiences of dealing with bugs, and someone commented that if we lived in New York City, it would have been a rat memorial instead of a roach. I'm just glad it brought so many people some laughs and joy like it did for me. Life is meant to be silly, and we should laugh at silly things like a roach memorial. It's fun to live with people who aren't serious all the time," she concluded.

The TikTok community didn't back away from joking about the cockroach's funeral either. @shybirds remarked, "The Beatles performing is what got me I just know they were giggling like crazy when writing that." @cassie.merrow0801 commented, "I worked at a hospital once and the same dead roach was in the elevator for 2 months!" @l._..aleksa mentioned, "Ya our guy dorms had a funeral and memorial for a fish the other week. R.I.P. King Wolfe."
