Mom hilariously explains the unglamorous side of being a mother: 'Cleaned a milk spill with my sock'

It has become quite usual for people on social media to portray their lives as perfect. However, a mom is not fine with that idea and made sure to call out such moms in a hilarious video. The mother—who goes by @falling_full-circle on TikTok—posted a video trying to explain the unglamorous side of being a mother. She begins the video by saying, "Sometimes I end up on the moms' side of TikTok when they're like, 'let's make cereal for breakfast' and then they're actually like constructing cereal from scratch for breakfast and everybody's wearing white linen."

She continues, “I didn’t receive my standard issue white linen robe when we were all becoming parents. Apparently, I got this instead." After which, she moves a bit back from the camera and shows her outfit, a grey hoodie and similar colored shorts, which she specifies are her “husband’s boxers, so it looks like I have a loose-sized vagina and that’s fine.”

The mom later talks about how all those videos have some things in common. “There’s a very stylistic element to all the videos where all the utensils are wooden,” she says. “They make sure to show off their jawline, all I have is chin hair and acne. And they all have a baby in their hand.” She also shows her dog and says it's "Cecee and she has dementia."

Meanwhile, her daughter can be heard saying she is hungry in the video's background. The woman had a hilarious response to that. She says, “I’m cooking now, it takes time. I have to go harvest all the grains for your cereal, it’s gonna be a minute.” She later clarifies in the video, “I sound like a hater. But I’m not. I love those videos and I’m happy for them. If it makes you happy, I’m happy for you. But I just want everybody to know that I cleaned up a milk spill with my sock today."

The video went viral with over 400k views and the mothers on the platform couldn't relate to it more. @jesskay0313 commented, "Omg! I lost it at 'harvest your grains for cereal.'" @mccarthy120 wrote, "The video after this was a mom making mozzarella and bread with her 4 kids from scratch. I relate to the sock milk cleanup far more lol."

This video is proof that moms have so much pressure to always look their best and also ensure that their houses are spick and span, or otherwise they are seen as bad wives or moms. The honesty with which this mother shared her reality is something that can normalize things and accept moms as normal humans and not somebody with superpowers to manage it all.
