Man who works at the airport has photographed unique people from all over the world

Mustafa Çankaya is a photographer and has always been intrigued by faces. Çankaya watches hordes of people flit in and out of the airport on a daily basis with an urgency to go places. Çankaya, who works at the Atatürk Airport in Istanbul, decided to start documenting them and he's turned it into something beautiful. "I see thousands of different faces passing by every day, from every culture and every part of the world. This inspired me to combine my passion for photography with my work at the airport and create a new project called 100 Faces 100 Countries," said Çankaya, reported Bored Panda.

Çankaya always looks for people that stand out in a crowd, be it their face, their dress, or their hairstyle. He seeks them out and asks them if he can feature them for his project. Çankaya ensures they're ok with as the "most important (thing) is the atmosphere between me and the participant." He started the project in March 2018 and has made it a point to carry his camera to work every day. He has more than 100 portraits from 77 different countries. He is eager to continue with this project and hopes to hold exhibitions all over the world. Here is some of his stunning work:

Emil is a filmmaker and journalist from Sweden 🇸🇪 and was heading to Nairobi 🇰🇪

4. Slobodana from Bosnia and Herzegovina

Slobodana lives in Sweden 🇸🇪 and was heading to Albania 🇦🇱 where her husband manages a campsite.

5. Yogi Matsyendranath Maharaj is a Guru of Russian 🇷🇺 origin recognized in India

Maxim hails from Russia 🇷🇺 and lives in Australia 🇦🇺. His spiritual name is Yogi Matsyendranath and he teaches yoga.

6. Rachel from the USA 🇺🇸  

Rachel 🇺🇸 was headed to Albania 🇦🇱 where she is currently serving with Peace Corps Volunteer.

7. Robin from Liechtenstein

Robin is the drummer of the band @princevincefl from Liechtenstein. 

8. Cheryl from India 

Cheryl is an interior designer from India 🇮🇳 but has been living in Sri Lanka for the past 12 years. Cheryl visited her brother in the USA, before  transiting through Istanbul, and heading home to India.

9. Jussi from Finland

Jussi owns a tattoo and piercing studio called Paradise in Helsinki, and was headed to Uganda 🇺🇬.

10. Julius from the Philippines

Julius is the CEO of WinKey Online English Academy, an e-learning English teaching service across Asia

11. Aziza from Saudi Arabia

Aziza was heading to Medina.

12. Alana from Australia

Alana was traveling from India to New York.

13. Alex from Belarus

Alex is a multi-skilled circus artist from Belarus.

14. Maria from Latvia 

Maria is a yoga teacher, classical guitar player, and food photographer. 

15. Alex from Uganda

Alex lives in Kigali, Rwanda 🇷🇼 , and is a dance artist, creative facilitator, and event ogranizer.

16. Sawsan from Libya

Sawsan is an architecture student at Eastern Mediterranean University and was headed for North Cyprus. 

17. Sylvain from Benin

Sylvain is a trader and was head to India.

18. Pan from China

Pan works in Mauritania as an interpreter and was headed to China.

19. Rustem from Turkmenistan

Rustem works in Russia and was traveling to Ashgabat. 

20. Dagmo from Somalia

Dagmo is a homeroom teacher at Kuwait City.

21. Farzam from Iran

Farzam is a model from Iran and was traveling to China.

Korin was running to catch her flight after the picture was taken so Çankaya doesn't know much else about her.

Joao is a digital marketing manager and published author from Portugal

24. Selam from Eritrea 

Selam is building a business in Dubai and Istanbul. She was heading back home to Eritrea 

25. BafuChafu from Kenya

BafuChafu is a Reggae and Dancehall artist from Nairobi. 

26. Yulia from Ukraine

Yulia is a DJ 🎧 

28. Marcus is from Mauritius

Marcus works on a cruise ship.

30. Ulya from Mongolia

Ulya is studying Business Management and is also into modeling. She was headed for Budapest.
