French woman trying to pronounce food names in English has the entire internet roaring with laughter

There is nothing unusual about a person from a different country or region struggling with pronunciation belonging to a new place. A person's accent is bound to drastically affect how they say a certain word or talk about something in a language they do not usually speak. In a similar way, a French woman's pronunciation of common English food names has taken the internet by storm. The woman–who goes by @tatatopsecret on TikTok–shared a video of herself trying to pronounce the food names on the platform.

In the game, a food item would pass through an animated opening only if a player pronounced the name right. In the video, the first thing she tried was "pizza." She tried to say pizza in different ways to try and get the food item to pass through the opening. First, her "I" sound had a lot more emphasis. She tried to reduce it, but it would simply not come through. Eventually, she got tired of it and asked for help from an AI voice called "Lisa," who finally helped her pass the level. The next food item was a burger, which might seem like a relatively simple thing to say, but in the person's French accent, it sounded more like "Behgeh" and would not get through.

Again, she employed the help of an AI assistant and managed to get the burger through the door, too. The next thing in the game was a hot dog. Her pronunciation sounded much closer to her accented French English, where there was not much emphasis on the "h" sound, but she still managed to get through the level in one go this time. She was super excited to see that happen. It seems like she was in luck because even the next item, "Nutella," went through in one go and without any struggle. Now, the last item was Oreo ice cream and as it was the final thing, the game seemed to have gotten much more intense as she was fully focused on securing her win after struggling through so many levels.

"O-Re-O," the woman tried for her first go and kept at it for quite some time, but the item just would not get through, so she said, "Oh-wa-yo" instead and immediately cleared the level as well as winning the game. A message "You win" popped up on the screen, making the creator super pumped about what happened. "I win, I win," she expressed. "I am better than you," she said as the video concluded. The video received more than 10.4 million views and over 778.6k likes. People took to the comments to express their thoughts on the video.
