Woman agrees to let husband's grandma in delivery room — but only on one equally bizarre condition
She was really surprised that her husband was making such a request and hoped that he was joking for his own sake.
Welcoming a new member to the family is an exciting time for everyone. Many family members may want to be there to get the first glimpse of the baby when it’s born. However, having multiple people in the room while a mother is giving birth can be uncomfortable for her. That’s why, more often than not, the woman gets to decide who will and won’t be in the delivery room. Sunny Lena, known as @sunnylenak on TikTok, was stunned when her husband expressed his wish to have his grandmother in the delivery room.
"So my husband just informed me that he would like his grandmother to be in the room with me with him when I give birth," Lena began. Her husband had sent her a text with this request, and she hoped for his sake that it was a joke. "He's probably joking. But knowing him he also might be serious. I don't actually know." Lena found it especially funny because she wasn’t even allowing her own mother in the room. "So I don't why he would want his grandmother in. It makes no sense," she said. While Lena understood the excitement—since it would be the grandmother's first great-grandbaby—she still found the idea puzzling. "But still," she added.
The woman texted her husband back and told him, "Listen, if you want her in the room, you need to be, for at least an hour, butt-naked in front of her first. When you can do that, then she can absolutely come to the room." The husband thought that it was "ridiculous." To that Lena added, "Of course it is. Why should she be in the room too? That's also kind of ridiculous out of all things." The woman expressed, "I truly hope for his sake and for my own that we are not about to have a big fight about this. I never in my life thought that I would ever be in a position of 'No, you can't have somebody in the room other than you and me.' I am just shocked that this was even mentioned. I hope it's a joke."
