Mom asks rookie dad to change baby's diaper. He responded with the most dramatic and sassy routine
Ever since Micah and Sarah Wallace became first-time parents in October 2024, their candid and playful videos have garnered the attention of millions.
Right from the time when they're just a C-shaped embryo pulsating inside their mother's womb, babies automatically develop physical bonds with their moms, which strengthen over time with activities like feeding. However, since dads don't share the same physical connection as moms do during pregnancy, they usually make up for the gap by including fun and playful activities with their newborn. When Micah & Sarah Wallace (@micahandsarah) became first-time parents in October 2024, they came up with singing and dancing as a way to bond with their tiny tot, Shelton. Given that Micah is a musical theatre performer and Sarah is a professional dancer, Shelton's early life is a dazzling rock show.

They started posting myriads of videos with Shelton on social media, from grooving at playsongs and swaying at lively tunes. In one candid video, Sarah captured a comedy scene unfolding when she asked Micah to change Shelton’s diaper. “Asked my husband to change our newborn’s diaper and found him doing this,” Sarah wrote in the text overlay of the video. The video shows Micah in a grey tee and denim, standing in a room in front of the baby’s changing station. As the couple’s romantic photographs flash on the walls, Micab erupts into a funky rendition of Disney's Mulan song, "I'll Make a Man Out of You," mimicking the actions of Caption Li Shang in the original track. His performance is not without props, which, in this case, is a green wiper.
He sweeps the prop from side to side, swooshing it with the lyrics and tone and pausing to catch the baby’s reaction in between. He rolls and takes an upward jump, which brings an exclamatory “Oh” from Sarah, who was filming the clip behind the camera. The video then zooms into where the baby is strapped to the mattress of the changing station. Behind the camera, Sarah chuckled.
"We're always singing and dancing and being goofy around the house. Especially my husband. There's never a dull moment—or a quiet one, haha," Sarah told Newsweek. She added that in the first couple of weeks of giving birth, the couple had no idea what they were doing. But now that they’ve learned a few things, they’re having a lot of fun moments. Meanwhile, this sweet dance performance by Micah attracted a flurry of hundreds of comments from people who couldn’t help but swoon and sway along with Micah’s singing.
“Omg this baby is going to live inside a musical,” commented @Cris_Jiro. @mrs.lentzzz wrote, “Can’t wait till he joins you guys in your little musicals!” Reflecting on the couple’s videos, @grammitude60 said, “Your baby is gonna sing before they talk!! Love it!”
Adding a laughter emoji, @laurat_1981 commented, “He’s like…'Dad we’ve got a poomergency! I repeat a poomergency!'” @melissajamesblack said, “The way he's so unbothered by it all. Another day. Another performance. But seriously, this diaper ain't gonna change itself!”
