Macklemore imparts an important life lesson in a wholesome encounter with a fan at Ben Tour

Life has umpteen ups and downs and one often forgets that the downs are just as important a part of life as the ups. What matters isn’t the fact that one has fallen or failed, but that one has mustered the courage to get back up and keep going. The takeaway from every fall is to get back up and move on stronger than ever. Rapper and singer Macklemore shared a heart-touching message on the same in his recent concert. The artist took to Instagram to share how failures are a part of life and it is getting back up that is important. Posting on his account, the rapper shared a glimpse of his Minneapolis concert.

His fan, Willow teamed up with the star to render an exceptionally crucial life lesson on stage. The video captured Macklemore hyping Willow up as she got on stage to compete in a dance battle. He said, “Willow, you got this. 20 seconds, you know what to do.” Unfortunately, the 13-year-old was nervous and slipped and fell. However, in the video captured by @megee_moo, Willow got up and continued to dance. Towards the end of the dance-off, Macklemore decided to do something wholesome for little Willow and use her example as an inspirational moment. In his video, he said, “The thing I love the most about this dance-off is Willow.”

The crowd began echoing Willow’s name and praises for the girl after recalling her bravery and confidence on stage. Elaborating further, the rapper said, “Willow. Because you showed us what we all do in life.” Understanding the embarrassment the fan felt, Macklemore addressed her saying, “I’ve slipped before my love. I’ve slipped in front of the entire world before.” While Willow was overflowing with mixed emotions, Macklemore continued to encourage and applaud her with the multitude of fans for her persistence. “And you know what you did? You got back up and kept dancing,” he said as the fans let out a loud cheer.

“So thank you for showing us what it looks like when we slip and get back up,” Macklemore added. The woman with Willow, presumably her mother, feeling exceptionally proud of her daughter is seen caressing her while the fans cheer on. The video ended with Willow’s name being echoed throughout the area while Macklemore gave her a look of appreciation and cheerful acceptance. In his caption, Macklemore added to the experience saying, “My favorite moment on tour. It hit the most beautiful core of the human experience. Thousands chanting her name, holding her up, letting her know it’s okay, we have all been there.” 

His caption continued, “Thank you for reminding us what resilience looks like and for connecting us to our humanity. We love you, Willow. You got tickets to any show for life.” Fans went wild over the clip and couldn’t stop pouring words of encouragement for Willow and appreciation for the rapper. @meggee_moo commented on the post saying, “Willow loves you, Ben!!! Thank you to you and everyone there for raising her!!” @all4theloveoffambree said, "You took a moment that could have haunted her forever and you made a positive impact.” @amaechiokobi said, “ Her life and attitude to slipping and falling is forever changed as have all who witnessed it.
