'The really just rinsed a Walmart tomato and served it'
Social media tends to blow up every time something slightly out of the ordinary is posted, with videos that showcase an amusing or eccentric concept being more likely to be viewed and reshared. Something similar happened with Cassidy Miller, who goes by the username @cassidym92, on TikTok. She posted a video of her eating a tomato with lemon, pepper, and salt, at a high-end restaurant in Las Vegas. The video went viral and the internet is convinced we're being trolled at this point.
On March 8, 2025, Cassidy Miller, a TikTok personality, posted a video on her account, where she can be seen dining at a lavish restaurant in Las Vegas. However, she isn't eating anything fancy — her plate is occupied by a large red tomato. “Okay, so we’re at LPM in Vegas and they give out tomatoes and lemon as your little bread at the table, which is great for me because I’m gluten-free,” Miller says while dining at the French Mediterranean restaurant. “So this is, like, iconic.”
Miller takes a knife and slices the tomato into two unequal halves. Laying the smaller section on the plate, she lifts the lemon and squeezes its juice on the sliced tomato. Further, she drizzles some olive oil on it and sprinkles some salt and pepper to enhance its taste. When she takes a bite of the tomato, her face lights up immediately. “Wow,” she exclaims and proceeds to take another bite, “So fresh, so good.”
No matter how much she enjoyed her snack, viewers couldn't help but be sarcastic. @ihateholidays reacted, "A ROMA tomato?? Girl you got scammed," while @nails_withextraspice questioned, "Do they let you wash the dishes for the full experience?" @jessicataylor0811 wrote, "If someone brought me a tomato in place of bread I would contact my lawyer immediately," and @savbeanz04 commented, "Influencers are wild LOL (Laughing Out Loud)"
Miller, who works at a pediatric psych ward and as an assistant teacher, told TODAY.com, "It really just speaks how polarized social media can be because either people love something or they strongly hate it, there’s no in between. It makes you realize that even the smallest, most innocent things can literally just blow up and go viral. I just found it funny how much passion people had over a tomato."
To show her "haters" that she couldn't care less about their sarcastic comments, she has been posting the most hilarious videos — eating tomatoes. One of her videos features her slicing tomatoes, adding lemon juice, olive oil, salt and pepper and putting it in the oven. After taking out the roasted slices, she eats them and puts on a delighted smile. Another video shows her enjoying a bowl of cherry tomatoes with squeezed lemon, olive oil, etc.

Miller tells the outlet that with less than 2000 followers, she is not an influencer yet. However, she desires to be one some day, like her sister, Cierra Miller. “I got called an influencer a lot,” she added, “I was like, all right, I’ll take it, cool. They’re calling me an influencer.” Further, both Miller and the CEO of LPM clarified that tomatoes are served along with fresh bread, not in place of it.
“Every guest is welcomed with a complimentary presentation of fresh tomatoes, lemons, our signature olive oil, and salt & pepper in addition to warm baked baguette — a gesture that reflects both generosity and authenticity,” Nicolas Budzynski, LPM’s CEO, said to the outlet. “In the tradition of Mediterranean family meals, guests are invited to prepare their own simple tomato salad at the table, and we wanted to create a unique way to reflect that and welcome guests into LPM’s home,” he added.
