There is a right time for everything and the same applies when one is applying for a job. Applying to a job at the right time can prove to be immensely beneficial for many candidates. Thankfully, Bonnie Dilber (@bonniedilber)—who is a recruiter in the tech industry—recently shared a video giving out "insider knowledge" for people who are looking for a job. The post has gained an impressive 701.9K views and 477 comments on the social media site.

The woman shares how she has about nine years of experience with recruiting people and that she has been hiring for longer. She talks about how there were two trends that she observed again and again. The first observation was that of the hiring side. She says, "If a hiring manager posts a job in November, they are serious and urgent about hiring it."

According to Dilber, the reason behind this urgency is that there are a lot of holidays in the months of November and December. As a result of this, most hiring managers and candidates have a lot of time off, which means that scheduling anything becomes quite hard. She explains, "They would rather wait unless they feel really urgent about hiring the role and having that person start in January."

In addition to that, Dilber reveals that budgets "turn over" towards the end of the year. She mentions how some companies have a policy where they have to spend all of their additional budget, or they would lose it the next year. Finally, she talks about how many candidates chose not to interview during this time of the year. People who are already employed might have -end-of-year bonuses or shares within their company and do not want to leave their jobs till they can make use of those.

She says, "Plus, with all of the holidays, they also don't wanna chill with like, interviewing and a potential transition and all of that, causing employed candidates to wait." The woman concludes by saying that the last two months of the year are a time when companies have fewer roles posted, but these are roles that have to be urgently filled in. Coupling this with lesser competition makes it easier for candidates to land a good job during this period.
