Anyone who has experienced burnout knows how difficult it can be to manage. And no one can predict how long it will last, as different approaches work for different people. One X user found certain tips designed for the virtual characters of "The Sims 4" life simulation video game surprisingly helpful in dealing with burnout in her real life. While advice meant for video game characters might not be what you’d expect, it worked well for the woman named Jessica, who goes by @moonyeyed on the platform.

"This is borderline humiliating, but one time I had to look up how to deal with the SIMS having burnout and I've kept a screenshot of the tips and have been using them on myself and have finally started to get control over my burnout that's going on two years now. Thanks to SIMS 4 tips," she wrote, sharing the tips with people. The tip read: "Burnout is decreased by relaxing—Lounging in lounge chairs, taking naps, taking bubble baths, having a nice drink, sitting around watching TV, using hot tubs, getting massages, wearing face masks, doing spa stuff in general." It also suggested "playing with kids, playing games, dancing, reading, lighting incense, drinking tea," and doing "anything logically relaxing" as ways to deal with burnout.

Jessica added, "And also 'Sims experiencing mental burnout need to find creative outlets. Sims experiencing creative burnout require mental challenges.' Life-changing perspective awakening. FROM F***IN SIMS 4 TIPS." The woman also informed people, "Oh, this post went a little bit outside of the realm of my little Twitter group, so I should add here this list came from Waffle's Mix-Ins Patreon. They have some great information about the inner workings of the game (and life). They're very worth supporting!" People took to the comments section of the post to support the woman's idea and to share their own experiences with burnout.

@dreamsofskies wrote, "When I first played the Sims, I kept having trouble keeping the Fun meter full for them. The Sims taught me that having fun is actually a human need and that you didn't need to be productive all the time." @starconchi commented, "This isn’t humiliating! Your being able to extrapolate your own potential SIM character burnout scenario to yourself is a component of how gaming has been able to improve your life. IF IT WORKS IT WORKS!" @Cielldaily shared, "The mental challenges make so much sense to me. As a burned-out creative, I swear I find it so relaxing to play Sudoku, nonograms, or any logic game. I crave them, I don’t know how it works, but it’s relaxing somehow!"

@TheOnlyTheodora remarked, "Not only is this great advice, but it makes a lot of sense spiritually. We need a balance between the left brain, mental activity and the right brain, creative/intuitive activity. And as someone who’s experienced all sorts of burnout, I can see how every time I’m on the verge of creative burnout, that’s when I seem to pick up a sudden interest in an activity that mentally challenges me."
