A 3-year-old got to have her dream birthday party at an IKEA store and it was all kinds of cute

A mom left people online pleasantly surprised as she shared her 3-year-old daughter's birthday celebration at their local IKEA. The video quickly went viral with people appreciating the efforts IKEA put into celebrating the child's birthday and calling all IKEA locations to follow suit and host birthday parties.

"Come with me to have my three-year-old's birthday party at IKEA, Tampa," the mom—who goes by @cyaatia on TikTok—says as the video begins. The woman and her daughter first meet the IKEA event leader who gifted a birthday sash to the birthday girl. They were then led to the party room with custom arrows on the floor guiding them along the way.

"Look at what an amazing job they did decorating," @cyaatia says as she turns the camera around the room filled with balloons and streamers in IKEA's signature colors of blue and yellow. Besides that, some amazing meals were involved for lunch as IKEA served pizza, mac and cheese and their famous Swedish meatballs. "Lunchtime was a huge hit," the mom shares in the video. After lunch, more fun followed as the kids did a scavenger hunt around the showroom. "How cute is that? Have you ever seen anything cuter? It was really cute watching them all be busy," @cyaatia states.

Then came the cake cutting and singing of the Happy Birthday song and even some icecreams. This was followed by yet another surprise for the birthday girl as the IKEA employees at the store came inside the room and started singing Happy Birthday again, filling the room with joy. They also gifted the birthday girl an IKEA employee shirt and a birthday card signed by all employees. They also gave IKEA gift cards to the adults present at the party and goodie bags for the kids. "Thank you, Tampa IKEA, you went above and beyond!" @cyaatia says as she concludes the video.

The video went viral with over 843.7K views and hundreds of comments. @Sammy joked, "IKEA BIRTHDAY PARTY?!? Yeah, my 34th birthday is going to be lit!!!" @Iva asked, "I'm 24, can I also have my bday at IKEA? " @Amy wrote, "I was picturing 20 little kids assembling Billy bookcases. Just me?" @aaaeeellll commented, "I would absolutely die if I saw these kids marching through the store! This is so cute! I’d be like, WHO NEEDS HELP? WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR." @Blurie discussed their own experience, sharing: "I had my 17th birthday at IKEA in 2009! Except we just brought a bunch of board games and I picked out a staged living room for us to hang out in." 

@cyaatia gave the backstory of her daughter's birthday in a follow-up video. She discussed how she and her daughter love going on shopping trips to IKEA. "She found a place where she could play with toys, jump on beds and eat pizza all in the same store, and I would allow it. Yeah, she fell in love," she explains in the clip.

She revealed that her daughter eventually asked her for a birthday celebration at the store. So, the mom spoke to IKEA. "IKEA USA responds back to me on Facebook and they love the idea. They love Lucy. They sent it to the Tampa IKEA and they're like, ‘Hey guys, what do you think about this? Something you want to do?’ Insert the dream team at IKEA Tampa," she says of the events leading up to the birthday party. However, an IKEA birthday party is not on the cards for everyone as of now.

“It is not anything that they offer just yet, unfortunately,” she explains in her video. “I hope we can change the world. So every child and adult is able to have a birthday party at IKEA.”
