The little girl hit her sister in the face, but the older sister chose to respond with patience and kindness.
Young kids need someone to teach them patience and kindness and to guide them in the right direction when they do something wrong. Although adults are usually expected to provide that guidance, sometimes, other kids show remarkable understanding and compassion while dealing with such situations. In one such instance, an older sister showed exceptional patience while telling her younger sister, who has Down Syndrome, that she did not like it when she got aggressive. After being on the receiving end of aggression, she calmly explained that she didn’t like the behavior and offered guidance on what to do instead. Their mother, Nikki Geib—known as @makingmilliestones on Instagram—captured and shared the wholesome interaction between her daughters.
"Her sister grabs at her face. Watch what she does next," the text overlay of the video read as the little kid grabbed at her older sister's face. "Millie, stop, I don't like that, stop," the elder sister, Georgie, said as she held onto her little sister, Millie's, walker. "Please stop. Georgi doesn't like that." She added, "She doesn't like it when you pinch or push. She doesn't like any of these things, but she does like it when you are kind. Can you do that for me?" Georgi asked in a gentle tone. "Yes," Millie agreed. "Good," Georgi expressed. The mom loved her older daughter's kindness and patience and the transparency of the moment.
"Georgi: her patience, communication skills and love for her sister," the caption read. "Millie, like any child, makes mistakes. She often times struggles to communicate her need for space because she can't get the words out quickly enough, so a push or a grab is her immediate reaction. I spoke to Millie afterward, but I stopped myself from interfering right away because I think it's important for Georgi to express her feelings to Millie, too. And to be honest, I think Georgi is often more effective at getting the lesson across to Millie than I am." The wholesome video has garnered nearly 91 million views. People in the comments appreciated Georgi's patience and admired the bond between the two sisters.

Many small children would have continued on." @kaitlyxoroseee commented, "Wow, this is actually extremely impressive for multiple reasons: First, Georgi kept her composure and did not hit her sister back. She then secondly told her she did not like that and to please stop. Third, she gave her sister an alternative behavior of being kind so that her sister could understand the behavior that is acceptable and desired. And lastly, she gets her sister to acknowledge yes and then gives her space and moves on."
@follyfads remarked, "I have watched this video several times, and I can only give credit to everyone involved. Georgi is a wonderful sister. You can tell she has it together. She took control of the situation and de-escalated it effectively. Her sister listened to her and responded well, too. Mom and Dad, well done! You are raising great children, and I can see a bright future for these little ones." @carodiez1201 shared, "You've raised some amazing little girls, courageous and kind, brave and sweet with their sister that has special needs but is treated no differently because they see the beauty within her, just like she is... they're all perfect!"
