Resignation is the time when one expects their efforts to be finally acknowledged by the employer. Often, outgoing employees celebrate it with their colleagues, including the boss, who, in turn, heaps praise on them and says good things about them. But a company worker chose to do it differently. The man who goes by IBK (@ibkaraoye) on TikTok shared his parting moment with the co-workers, extending a heartwarming gesture.

In the video, IBK can be seen sending a message to all the employees out there to never depart from the workplace on a bad note. “It’s my last day at work, so I decided to get everyone a gift at work,” he begins saying. Instead of expecting any grand farewell, the content creator chooses to give back to his fellow employees, who, according to him, never shied away from showing their support.

The uplifting act by the worker has led to him winning praise from the online community. Additionally, the clip shows IBK planning in advance to make his colleagues feel special. In order to do so, he reaches the office way before anyone else marks their presence. “Arrived early to the office so that I could deliver (gifts) before everyone shows up,” remarked the man, while running from one person’s desk to another.

As part of the sweet gesture, he places personalized gift items as well as handwritten cards on each and every team member’s desk. Notably, the man infuses a personal flair into the presents by wrapping them in carrying bags with the names of his colleagues written on them. Through this intimate act, IBK aims to convey that he intends to be remembered by his co-workers once he leaves the company.

The caption with the video reads, “Don’t quit on the last day; write a heartfelt resignation letter, and remind your team how much you will miss them!” Moreover, the 26-second clip ends with IBK going back to his desk after he is done with all the arrangements. Following this, he sends out a strong message to the viewers, saying: “And there you have it; how to leave a good job.” The video has garnered some 130,000 views, with many describing it as a reminder for employees to leave the bitter experiences behind.

Good luck in all your future endeavors!” Calling it a thoughtful move, @triple_3hhh remarked, “This is something I would do without any regret.”

Reflecting the point of view expressed by IBK in his final video before resignation, business coach Marlo Lyons emphasized the importance of leaving with no grudges. "Do not focus on what was horrible at the current company. Focus on the opportunities at the new company," Newsweek quoted the expert as saying, who agrees never to leave any company as a disgruntled employee.
