The woman does this with her long-distance best friend every time they see each other and it works like a charm.
Although all friends are a phone or video call away in most cases, it still might not feel the same as meeting them face to face and updating them about everything that has happened in your life. However, this can become tough with your long-distance best friend. For those struggling to keep up with the lives of their long-distance best friends, a woman on TikTok named Madi Hart–who goes by @madihart_soccer on the platform–shared a brilliant idea to stay up-to-date with each other's lives.
"This is your sign for whenever you're seeing your long-distance best friend next, to make each other PowerPoints that fill each other in on your life," Hart says in her video. "I'm making all these slides about my job, about my current friend group. I'm currently working on my love life section," she went on. She even broke down her sexuality statistics for her friend. "I am currently filling her in that my gayness has overall increased since she last saw me." She even made sure to put all of the gossip in her life in the presentation, even though her best friend doesn't know most people who are currently in her life. "I am giving her job updates, including nice texts from my boss," Hart revealed.
She revealed that her finished presentation was 35 slides long, while her friend's presentation was 37 slides long. "37, wow, okay, I thought I was going to do too much," Hart expressed. Her friend pointed out that she was mostly visual, which was the case with Hart's presentation too. "We threw this awesome Fourth of July party and a lot of people said like separately from each other, like, they said it was the best party they had ever been to," the woman told her friend. The friend mentioned a text from someone called Billy, who was joking about something but in an intense way. Hart also talked about her pottery phase during one of her friend's birthday parties.
"That's really good," the friend commented. "No, I was really bad at pottery, like I didn't have a natural proclivity towards it," Hart admitted. "I highly recommend doing this with your long-distance best friend," the video concluded. She captioned the post, "Such an efficient way to catch up." The video received over 686k views and more than 85.2k likes. People took to the comments to express their opinions about the idea.
@hunt.mama wrote, "I feel like we could all make our own platform called Tea, where it's like our own social media where we just upload our PowerPoints and let our followers comment. the best part is there's no algorithm." @zara_the_seedling commented, "I would do this, but we talk every single day, so despite being long distance 99% of the year... babe, we know everything about each other." @fggd remarked, "It's funny because I am actually considering that, but I haven't seen them for long because I started isolating myself and I lost contact with everyone and I haven't left my house for close to a year." @nluuz shared, "An alternative suggestion: make a weekly Wednesday waffle! Just send a little vlog in the chat with what you've been up to and been dealing with the past week. We have edits and overlays and all."
