The universal structure for employees' email addresses used by many companies turned this woman's email into a laughing stock.

Many people who wish they could've had a different name feel that way because of how mispronounced it is. However, for some unfortunate souls, despite having an agreeable name, their work email ends up being amusingly ridiculous. That is the case for a lifestyle influencer Samantha Hart—who goes by @thesam_show on TikTok. Last year, Hart shared about her new job and pointed out one particular concern that made her anxious about starting the job. It was the pitiable combination of her initials and her last name that resulted in a hilarious email address and people are cracking up.

Hart began her video by saying that she was transitioning to a new job position within two weeks. Despite the excitement of kickstarting her new job, Hart was worried about having "a conversation about how her name fits into the company's email structure." Every time she switches jobs, she dreads this one aspect because most companies follow the email structure of using the employee's first initial followed by their last name. For Hart, the combination of her first initial and last name would lead to "Shart."

One who understands the meaning of "shart" (s**t + fart) might know how weird it would be to have such an email address. Having had two professional jobs before this new job, Hart mentioned that the same email structure was followed in both companies. "At every single workplace, I have received an email from HR the week before I start letting me know that my name doesn't exactly fit the company email structure as they would intend," she explained. So when they asked if she was fine with getting a different email structure, Hart would always say yes because she didn't want an email address that said "shart."

So, with two weeks to transition into her new role, Hart did some research on her new company's email structure. She found that her email was going to be "shart" in her new job too. Knowing that they had the same - first initials with last name- format, she was embarrassed about having to have an "uncomfortable conversation" with HR. Hart then asked her followers if she should take the plunge and have the "shart conversation" with her HR beforehand or wait for them to bring up the topic. "It's such a blessing to be me. Live, laugh, love baby. Live, laugh, love," Hart quipped in the end. "Sorry if I talk about this problem too much but it is happening again!" she mentioned in the caption.

The video went viral on TikTok and the internet was totally amused. Turns out, Hart wasn't alone, many others had unfortunate first and last names that ended up in an embarrassing email address. "It is always best to initiate the 'shart' conversation. Wait too long and it tends to come out at the least opportune moment," said @andymarks85 in response to Hart's concern. "As someone in IT, please reach out. When we have to rename a bunch of logins after someone starts, it can cause headaches for everyone including you," suggested @redheadedblonde_. "Clittmann has entered the chat. Have been dealing with this since college," chimed in @chris.littmann.
