She revealed that she finds the hack so useful that, since learning about it, she uses it every day in her kitchen .
Kitchen hacks tend to make a person's life a tiny bit easier and a lot of these tiny bits eventually add up to a lot. Just a little change in how you've been doing things can make work faster and much more efficient than ever before. Many hacks even make people wish that they'd known about it much sooner. In one such case, a woman on TikTok named Shannon Doherty (@athomewithshannon) showed a brilliant pasta hack that could help people prevent burn accidents and make less of a mess in their kitchen while making pasta.
"Show me the lifehack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life," the text overlay of the video read. The video begins with Doherty bringing a pot of boiled pasta close to the sink and putting her strainer in the sink, ready to strain the water in the usual way. But she backs off and puts the strainer on top of the pot instead. She holds the handle of both the strainer and the pot tightly with the help of a kitchen cloth and drains the pasta without removing the strainer from the pot. By doing so, Doherty was able to get all the water out, down to the last drop.
The video's caption read, "How was I doing this wrong my whole life? This was one of those Life Hacks that I use Every Day!" The video received over 943k likes and more than 43.1k shares. People in the comments section of the video had mixed opinions about the hack. While some people thought it was really useful, others felt that they still preferred the usual way. Meanwhile, some other people shared more new hacks through their comments.
@emilyroseeee wrote, "The strainer was in the sink and now the bottom of the strainer is in your pasta." @shannonbuds commented, "Just cook it with the metal strainer in the pot, that's what restaurants do." @britt_britt36 pointed out, "Can we please talk about those bow-tie pasta holders?" @momlifewithlaura remarked, "I also recently saw this! Couldn't believe I had been doing this wrong my whole life." @jen asked, "Oh hey! How about we put the uncooked pasta in the strainer and then put it in the pot and boil both together? Then you just lift the strainer out of the pot with the boiled pasta."

In another similar story, a woman shared an ingenious hack to remove stains from a plastic container. The TikTok user @ariganja learned the simple kitchen hack from her friend's grandma and all it takes is a few pieces of paper towels and a little bit of dish soap. The creator deemed the trick, "Best hack I was ever taught." Her video began with the woman showing a plastic container that she had cleaned already but still had plastic stains on it. To clear them out, she filled the container halfway through with water and added a little bit of dish soap and torn bits of paper towel to it. She then closed the lid and gave the box a good shake. When she opened the container, all the stains were gone.
