Woman's idea that single women should make 'gift registries' and be celebrated garners huge support

Just like people shower their engaged or pregnant friends with gifts, Lovely says that single women deserve it too.

As much as singlehood is preferred nowadays because of the freedom and peace of mind that comes with it, single people in society often don't get the same status. However, Rachel Lovely, a customer success manager at Google and popular TikTok content creator, feels that single women should be celebrated too. No matter how simple their achievements may be, single women should make a gift registry, as per Lovely and the internet is welcoming this idea.

Though she was in a relationship, Lovely felt the need to speak for the single women whose achievements in life often go unnoticed. She is a "passionate believer" in the fact that single girls should also make gift registries. "If you are a single woman and you pay for your own apartment, you pay your own bills, dinner, and everything's paid for by yourself, I believe that you should be sending around a gift registry for us to buy you a Crate & Barrel cutting board," Lovely explained. She emphasized that single women deserve gifts because they work hard to create a life of their own and barely "get their days in the sun."

Some women deliberately choose to stay single and Lovely says that that's okay. "If they don't wanna get married, if they don't wanna have children, there's a surplus of other reasons why we should be celebrating them," she added. Situations like getting promoted at work, breaking up with a bad partner or cutting oneself off from a "toxic situationship," all deserve a gift, says Lovely. She pointed out that whenever single women feel like they have made an achievement, they simply have to text their friends' group chat and send them a link to the Crate & Barrel gift registry. "We'll know what to do," she reassured.

"I just wanna ensure that our single girls are getting their flowers, getting their time in the sun because, Lord knows, they are paying for every single wedding, bachelorette, bridal shower by themselves. It's so expensive," explained Lovely. When she was single, she often wondered if anyone would even come to see her at Scottsdale, Arizona if she never got married. "We have to look out for single friends and we have to make sure that they're equally celebrated. There's so many reasons to celebrate them," said Lovely. This perspective resonated with many users who lauded Lovely for her fabulous idea.

"I’m about to close on my condo and I literally had this thought. Like, don’t I deserve to get gifts?" said @taylorannsmith3. "Single child-free millennial with a dog who has expensive food here. Thank you for seeing us," mentioned @victoriasblog. "When I buy a place I am doing this because how much more of an accomplishment is it to do it alone yet we are never celebrated?" added @brookeashleyeva.

Some pointed out that unless it's an engagement, wedding or pregnancy, society doesn't even care to acknowledge women's achievements. "Tried after buying a house by myself in the most expensive real estate market. People weren't into it, sadly. It only counts when it's marriage/baby," noted @hexonebula. "I said single people who buy houses should have registries like people do for weddings and a friend got mad," added @tooo.much.tuna
