There are certain things like letters, hidden messages, old things left behind by people in a house, or messages in a bottle that have an old-world charm. Many people would like to find something like that as it might feel somewhat magical. Rebecca Bowling, a teacher from Jacksonville Florida wanted to receive a message in a bottle. But little did she know that her wish would actually come true and that too on her birthday, as per a Facebook Post.

"I am spending my birthday camping on Cumberland Island National Seashore- Georgia. I have always wanted to find a message in a bottle. I got the best birthday gift today and found my message in a bottle! Please share this especially if you have friends and family in SC! I would love to tell Parker, I am also a girl who loves the sea and this is the best birthday present!" Bowling wrote in a post and uploaded the bottle along with a letter. The letter read, "Hi everyone, I am a girl. I love the sea, so I thought I could write a message. Love, Parker." The letter was from August 4, 2024, from Charleston. SC. The teacher found the message almost a month later on September 3, as per The Post and Courier.

The woman was taking a walk on the beach with her boyfriend after setting up her campsite as per the outlet. "I was talking with my boyfriend, and I was like, 'You know what would be so cool? I’ve never found a message in a bottle.' We were laughing about it because that seems like such an antiquated thing. Does that even exist anymore?" the woman wondered. But soon enough she found a glass bottle with a piece of paper inside it. "I was just stunned. I know it might sound silly now, but I had said that I wanted to do it, and it was my birthday trip. I was like, 'This is a dream come true,'" the woman expressed. After Bowling read the letter she was determined to find the girl who wrote it and employed Facebook's help.

Soon enough the girl's mom Kate Early saw the post and reached out to Bowling. The letter was written by 8-year-old Parker Early who is in the third grade and loves the ocean. She got the idea to put a message in the bottle from a movie. “She really likes the water and the sea itself. She really does have this kind of affinity for the outdoors," Parker's father said, describing the Mount Pleasant girl. The girl threw the bottle into the sea on August 11, a week after she wrote it near Charleston Harbor. The girl hadn't expected the bottle to reach the shore or for someone to find it. Bowling now wants to send a message to the little girl with a stamp from Cumberland Island.

"To all my friends staying posted on finding Parker, her mom has contacted me and Parker is over the moon, as am I!" the woman shared in a follow-up post on Facebook. Bowling has also planned on making her students write a message and put it in a bottle after being inspired by what the 8-year-old did as per the outlet. "[I want to] let them know Parker inspired me as a teacher, and she’s about to inspire a whole group of 205 students I teach virtually, that are all going to write letters now."
