Woman's dog refuses to let go of the cable guy's hand and melts everyone's hearts

While some pets get on their protective mode when they see a stranger, a few others welcome them with open arms and even befriend them. They love playing around with strangers and grab all the attention at parks, walks or even when strangers come to their homes for some reason. Something similar happened with Carly, who goes by @carly_lynne21 on TikTok. The woman's dog went and held the cable guy's hand as he worked. This simple act has warmed people's hearts.

The dog, 8-year-old, Gunner, a golden retriever and Labrador mix, went to the cable guy and asked for attention as the man started the repair work. The dog went and held the guy's hand and refused to let go of it, looking at his mom as if showing off a new friend. The man also sweetly returned the gesture as he held onto the golden retriever's paw as he worked. The video's text overlay read, "Thinking about that one time when my dog was with me at my grandma's and we were trying to keep him out of the way because the cable guys were there. The guy was like, 'No, it's okay' and then proceeded to literally hold his paw while he was working."

The heartwarming video received more than 1.1 million views and over 206k likes. The caption read, "The guy was so nice. And the way my dog just looks at me like, 'Yeah, see, he wanted me over here, Mom.'" In an interview with Newsweek, she said, "I was not surprised at all by Gunner doing this because he wants someone to be paying attention to him 24/7. And I wasn't really surprised that the cable guy let him come over to him and held his paw like that because he was so genuine and down-to-earth." She added, "The cable guy definitely seemed like he was a dog lover and didn't mind at all that Gunner kept wanting to go over to him. He was very kind."

The dog mom was really happy that the video of the cute moment between her dog and the cable guy brought joy to so many people on the internet. "I shared this on TikTok because it's such a happy memory for me and I just wanted it to make other people smile or have a good laugh about it. We all need a little positivity in our lives sometimes. The reaction on TikTok blew me away. I shared it as kind of a funny thing at first, and then people just absolutely loved it, and it has made my heart so happy," she expressed. People took to the comments section of the video to share their love and adoration for the moment.

Let's play." @brianna.lee_12 wrote, "Meanwhile, my German Shepherd sniffs maintenance people like the damn TSA." @austinroy822 shared, "I had a boxer lab mix who was so friendly she never met a 'stranger' and would walk all over the neighborhood. The water company and utility company would put her in the truck and let her ride with them." @ajmoore_1 recounted, "I had a service technician get down on the floor & wrestle with my boxer."
