Woman's date takes a funny turn as finance bro goes on an unsolicited investment tips rant

Going on dates can be a mixed experience. Some dates can turn out really well, while others can go horribly wrong. But one of the worst experiences is when your date gives you unsolicited advice for the entire date. TikTok influencer @alexpoulx had quite the story to share about a date gone hilariously wrong. The video captioned, "Waiter! I'll have another glass please" has gained 864.1k views on the platform with 1835 comments.

The text overlay on the short clip reads, "POV, you're on the worst date of your life." The woman is visibly disinterested in the conversation from the beginning of the video and continues to sip wine while the man rambles. The individual who she is on a date with appears to be overly passionate about finance and can't seem to stop talking about it on their date. He can be heard saying, "You're never gonna beat the market buying individual stocks," at the beginning of the video.

He also goes into the technicalities of stocks, saying that there were very "few hedge funds" to beat the "SP 500," which is not the most captivating topic of discussion on a date—unless everyone involved is interested, of course. The woman tries her best to seem remotely interested in what he has to say but continues to sip wine and be distracted. She does get to speak when the man asks her, "What does IPO stand for?" The woman answers, "Initial public offering." The man also briefly talks about how much he can lift on a bench press, saying something about being "barely" able to bench 135 pounds.

The end of the rant seemed to focus on fitness. The man finally asks her, "So, are we going back to your place? Or mine?" Hearing this, the woman begins laughing and the video ends. People on the social media site found the whole date hilarious and shared their opinions in the comments section. @juulseeker said, "Bad timing, but legit incredible stock advice." @mcita8 said, "I'd rather him explain why men think about the Roman empire. Thankfully, the creator had it easy with a boring date and not a dangerous individual. Another incident that happened to a woman, Hadia, highlights just how wrong dates can go. She happened to be seeing the stranger for the first time. A stranger then passed her a note persuading her to get away because the guy did not seem safe. The stranger, who happened to be a gay man at the nearby table, overheard their conversation and managed to pass her a note when her date left the table to go to the bathroom.

The note was straightforward and read, "Too many red flags. Run. Be safe, girl." She shared the basic details in a tweet that went viral and people had inquiries about what exactly the red flags were. She shared her own insights in a few follow-up tweets. The woman mentioned that she was able to hone in on a few red flags herself but didn't really feel threatened by them. She expressed her appreciation to the stranger for his caring suggestion.
