A woman working remotely in the insurance industry tells people why the industry offers exciting opportunities and pays well.
With the job market getting more competitive and harsh, people are looking to non-conventional and lesser-known fields for a career. Since most of the more well-known fields have become very difficult to survive in, this choice makes practical sense. People are also beginning to ditch the notion of having a fancy job and are more intent on making money. A woman on TikTok, Trice (@trice_harvey), shared a video where she informed viewers that there is "money to be made" in the insurance industry.
Trice starts the video by stating how a lot of people are not aware of what she is about to share. She says, "Get a job with the insurance industry if you don't have a job already. Or a career, you know, for yourself." The woman reveals that there is money to be made in the insurance industry. She shares that she has been working at her insurance job for two and a half years despite having no prior experience or a degree.
The woman is making more than nurses make in the state of Florida, which is a significant number. What makes the deal even sweeter is that she got to work from home. She reiterates how the industry pays its employees well. Trice happened to be looking at a job posting for a "homeowner property damage adjuster" that paid $65,000 to $85,000 a year. The woman concludes the video by imploring people to apply for such jobs.
People found the woman's insights about a career in insurance interesting and shared their thoughts in the comments section. @theecandacedior said, "I've been saying this for years. Commercial insurance underwriting here. There are underwriters on my team who make $175k per year." @freeandatpeace shared, "The best decision I have ever made was to become an insurance adjuster. I thank god every day for my career."
On that note, finding an ideal career for oneself can be a challenging task. Career coach Stephanie Brown (@kiwilondongirl) shared an informative video about making a career change. The advice was targeted at people who were 27 years of age and were looking to change their field of work. Being a career coach, Brown had talked with over 1200 people about their careers and found that people had a career crisis at 27. She shares how 27 seemed to be the common age when most people wished they could change their jobs.
But most people did not act on these feelings and chose to stay at whatever job they had. This meant that these people would go on to turn 40 years old and wake up one day regretting their career choices. She states, "If you are thinking about changing careers, if you are not happy where you are right now in your career, make that change." Brown cautions people that not acting on these feelings could lead to people feeling deeply regretful later in their lives. She concluded the video by saying, "You cannot turn back the clock and make the changes."
