Woman unexpectedly finds out her late mom lived in the same condo as her: 'She's always been with me'

When our loved ones pass away, their influence continues to shape our lives in ways we might not even realize. One woman in her 20s (u/depressedontheweeknd on Reddit) experienced this in a profound way when she discovered that she was living in the same condo her late mother had lived in over 20 years ago.

On Monday, the loving daughter shared a picture of herself as a child sitting on her mother’s lap. When she was around five or six years old, roughly 20 years ago, she sadly lost her mother to colon cancer. Little did she know that now, in her 20s, she would live in the same condominium where her mother had lived before she was born. This revelation came after her grandmother's recent passing, when her uncles decided to pass down the bonds her late mother had purchased for her as a child. "As I'm looking through her old addresses listed on the bonds, I see the house I remember living in and then a street that is in my complex pops up," she explained. 

She also realized that the home where she spent her childhood, before her mother passed away, was just two streets away from her condo. After doing the math, the daughter was elated to discover that her mother must have lived just around the corner in their complex before purchasing that childhood home. Additionally, there was another clue from her dad. "Looking back to when I first moved into my condo, I remember my dad trying to say he used to live here when he was dating my mom back in the day, but I truly didn't believe him," she mentioned. 

What are the odds? She stumbled upon this condo with no idea that her mother had once lived there. "Very small world and I think it's just a sign from her that she's always been with me, whether I knew it or not," the daughter wrote. She then walked around the complex and it struck her that her mother must have walked the same path decades ago. "Made me smile, laugh and cry, all at the same time," she wrote, concluding the post. Proving it was a heartwarming twist of fate, she mentioned in a comment that her boyfriend had let her choose this condo five years ago without even seeing it himself. Now, she understood why her late mom must have loved this place all those years ago.
