One interesting aspect of home renovations would be the thrill of finding old objects hidden behind secret shelves or doors. However, not every find might be exciting, as some turn out to be spooky too. That was the case for a woman who recently took to social media to share what she found in her new home's garden. Hannah—who goes by @hannahlouisetea on TikTok—discovered a mysterious box while digging up her garden. Revealing the dirty old box, Hannah wondered if its contents might be too scary and hesitated to open it up and people were absolutely intrigued about the reveal.

While renovating the garden of her two-up, two-down house, Hannah stumbled into an old metal box. With the ground surrounding the box partially dug out, she asked the viewers, "What do you think it is?" The box was buried barely a few centimeters below the ground, too close to the house and Hannah had all kinds of scary suspicions about what it could contain. Hannah's dad suggested that it might be a dead pet, but the woman could not wrap her mind around it. "Normally, people bury that at the end of the garden or, like, you get it cremated, right?" she asked her viewers.

Hannah then revealed that the house's previous owner used to have birds as pets. "I found quite a lot of birds. But it's too big for a bird, I think. So, I don't know what it is," she said. Leaving the audience to guess what was inside the box, Hannah desperately hoped that it was "nothing sinister." The video garnered over 115K views and over 150 users put forward their guesses. Some were quite serious that it was a dead pet, while others came up with some hilarious guesses.

"It's really common for people to bury their pets in gardens. Unfortunately, some people can't afford the cremation, etc.," pointed out @thorpe19942. To this, Hannah responded, "Oh yeah, 100%. I have also always done the same. However, sadly, I think this was buried far too shallow, and also right by my back door, so not the wisest decision." @spiral_35 said, "A time capsule from 1970/80's just like the one Blue Peter showed us." @delayed_thoughts2 added, "If it says Jumanji on it, leave it alone. We've had enough thank you very much." Some asked Hannah to open it, while others advised her to put it back where she found it.

@hannahlouisetea Hopefully this is nothing sinister 😰 Any guesses what this mystery box in my garden is? #garden #gardening #digging #homerenovation #diy #mysterybox #mystery #wtf ♬ original sound - Hannah 🇬🇧 ➡️ 🇺🇸

With many dying to know the mystery, Hannah shared an update the following day. Turns out, many had guessed it right; it was indeed a "dead pet." Hannah said, "It was, as a few people said, a dead pet. And now I'm traumatized because I had to see it." When Hannah dug the box out, its lid completely wore off and the insides were soggy. It had a shower curtain and fleece blankets and she had to toughen up to look at the remains of someone's dog. "I actually spoke to my neighbors who are a couple of doors down and used to know the person that lived here, and they said he had a dog that died a couple of years ago," she added. Hannah mentioned that she didn't know if she had to bury it again in a new box or pay for a cremation service to dispose of it.
