A wedding dress holds a unique significance in a person's life. The dress symbolizes love, commitment and countless shared memories. Beyond its role in the wedding ceremony, the dress retains sentimental value a long time after the event has passed. Ali Odom—who goes by @alibrookea on TikTok—shared a wonderful and touching video of her grandmother trying on her wedding dress 60 years after she got married. The short clip has amassed over 22 million views, 6.4 million likes and 77K comments on the platform.

The clip is captioned, "60 years and he still looks at her like that." Odom's grandmother is visibly excited as she holds up the skirt of her wedding dress and walks into the living room, where her entire family is present. Her husband does not notice at first, as he is sitting in a recliner, engrossed in a conversation with somebody else. The grandmother goes up to him and does a graceful bow, managing to get his attention.

Even after 60 years of marriage, the grandfather looks at his wife with love and admiration. The grandmother also seems to be in awe that she still fits perfectly into her wedding dress and examines it closely. The clip concludes with a very old photo of the couple on the day they were married, with her wearing the same dress and her husband wearing a white tuxedo with a black bowtie. Both seem to have aged gracefully, sharing life's important moments throughout the years.

It still looks so pretty today and so does she." @nadez357 said, "The way his eyes lit up when he saw her is just precious and the dress is just as lovely." @hellasasy commented, "Dang, she kept herself together and still fits her wedding dress after 60 years!!!"

The video was shared on TikTok by her granddaughter, Danielle Jefferson (@theonlydanij). The text overlay reads, "My 80-year-old grandma is marrying her 60-year-old fiance." The woman is very excited as she showcases her wedding gown to her granddaughter. Jefferson tells her, "You look great. Turn around 360." After this, the granddaughter asks Merryman to walk around in the gown.

The store staff tells her, "Close your eyes and put yourself in the venue, thinking of your future with your fiance. If you both have positive thoughts, then bells are here to celebrate with you." She opens her eyes and rings the bell, which gets everyone in the room cheering for her. The inspiring clip has received more than a million views and people admire Merryman for pursuing love against all odds.
