A tub of ice cream or moping in your bedroom alone after a breakup won't help you heal a broken heart any quicker. But if you have a great support system in the form of family or friends, you might be able to recover from it a bit sooner. On the other hand, there are also times when heartbreak can encourage you or even inspire you to do something you have never tried before. A woman on TikTok named Emma Di Palma (@emmadipalmaa) shared how she made the best of a miserable situation after getting dumped by her boyfriend just a week before they were supposed to take a European vacation together.

Despite being heartbroken, Emma was determined to go on this dreamy trip and so she decided to take her dad along with her instead. Emma documented the Euro trip with her dad on her TikTok profile where it quickly gained a lot of traction and reached over 3.8 million views since being posted. Her cheerful-looking father seemed excited to tag along with his daughter for the trip of a lifetime. In the first video, Emma posed with her dad as he kissed her forehead. A text overlay on the video read: "POV: your ex breaks up with you a week before your Euro trip, so your dad comes with you instead."

According to the hashtags on her video, the duo had taken the video in Portugal, where Emma's dad clearly lifted her spirits and helped her stay strong through her phase of heartbreak. The 23-year-old Canadian girl also included videos of her dad having some wine with a vibrant smile on his face and then the father-daughter duo took several other clips while posing at different locations across Europe.

She made a bunch of more follow-up videos. In one of her videos, the text overlay read, "POV: Your dad's fixing a heart he didn't break." She also shared a sarcastic little clip on her TikTok where she informed her audience that the Daily Mail had covered her breakup and Euro trip story on their site and she considered this an absolute win post her break up. Emma's fourth video related to her split gave the audience an update about how her ex had parted ways with her to "work on himself," but was found to have started dating another girl just a week later.

The comment sections of her videos, were full of emotional and compassionate comments for the father and daughter duo. @davecole26 wrote: "You have the most amazing dad in the world. Must be so lucky that he got to go on a holiday with you, you deserve much better than your ex-boyfriend." @siemei_ commented: "Trust me when I say these memories will mean so much more to you forever." Emma replied to this particular comment by writing that she is already "learning so much about her father on this trip." @dehlilasky assured her and wrote: "The ex would have probably ruined the trip. This probably means so much to your father."

@jocelynegilarias added: "He did [you] a favor. This will be something you will always remember. Your dad will stay with you until his last day." @nancyrebeccaa said: "Parents are sometimes the ones we take the most for granted. They will drop everything for us and that makes my heart so warm." There is no doubt that Emma will never forget this Euro trip with her father and her story might inspire millions to take their parents out for holidays whenever they can and make some lifelong memories.
