Woman surprises husband by reuniting him with father he hadn't seen since 15 years

Kids never really grow up when it comes to their parents. No matter whether they're four or forty, people always tend to behave like little kids when they are around their parents, especially when they're seeing them after a long time. As a beautiful testament to the fact, a video was shared by a couple—who goes by @vgreenleaf7 on TikTok—which showcased the husband meeting his father after 15 years and instantly becoming a child. This wholesome video resonated with a large audience, amassing over 7.7M views, for all the right reasons.

In that video, the husband whose name is Wendell, can be seen coming home from somewhere and seeing someone in the living room which causes him to be shocked. He walks towards the person who meets him halfway and he immediately gets on his knees and sobs a little. Turns out, Wendell was seeing his father after 15 long years. He eventually gets up and hugs his father properly and they stay like that for a bit. He also then realizes that this whole planning and plotting to surprise him was done by his father and his wife, and it was completely worth it especially after seeing his wholesome reaction.

The couple then made a follow-up video since a lot of people kept asking them why Wendell had not met his father for 15 years. They introduced themselves as Wendell and Vicky and explained that Vicky and his father planned this surprise for him for a couple of months. She said, "I went and picked him up and brought him here to the house and we waited on Wendell to come home from work. He was just sitting here acting all nonchalant and Wendell thought it was one of the kids sitting in the recliner and then whenever you can see the shock on his face was when he realized who was actually in the living room."

Wendell then goes on to explain why he hadn't seen his father for 15 years. He explains that it was mostly due to career choices. He says that his dad is a great dude who's taught him a lot. His father worked as a senior system analyst for Boeing for the last 40 years required him to stay around Seattle. Along with Wendell's profession, it would become very difficult to find time to meet. He said, "So I've seen him about maybe five times since I was younger." The last time he saw his dad was at his older brother's funeral back in 2015, but that wasn't a good memory.

Wendell expressed his disbelief saying, "But you know, I never thought he would come back to Alabama. And so obviously, if you see the video, he's the last person I would have thought was gonna come in here." However, he adds that there's no one else he'd want to have surprised him on Thanksgiving more than his father. Telling people to be free to ask any questions they might have, he says thanks and ends the video. The comment section was moved by this extraordinary moment between the son and his father.
