The woman wrote a heartwarming note to a homeowner talking about how additions to the 'bone family' became the highlight of her day.
Halloween enthusiasts are known to set up skeletons and things that would create a spooky and fun display around their house. Passerbys usually enjoy it, but who knew it could also bring comfort to a person going through cancer treatment? That's what happened with this woman. Tammy wrote a heartwarming note to a homeowner, talking about how new additions to the skeleton display became the highlight for her while going to and fro from her treatments.
The note was posted on an Instagram account called @darrcityskellies. It was dated "September 10, 2024" and read, "I have been driving past your house daily for the past 19 days on my way to radiation treatments. A highlight of my journey has been checking to see who else has joined the bone family and what they are up to." She then went on to write that September 11, Wednesday was her final radiation treatment. "Though I may need to continue to drive by once in a while to see what's new," she wrote. She concluded by writing, "Thanks for the diversion, Tammy." It was captioned, "I found this in my mailbox this morning. This definitely gives me the drive to keep it going bigger and better!"
After receiving the note, the house owner decided to make her last day of treatment extra special. In the video posted on Instagram, the house owner displayed multiple skeletons on the lawn. Two of them were seen holding a banner on which it was written "Tammy" and the other skeletons held up posters that had beautiful messages like, "Way to go, Tammy!" "You did great!" "You got this!" And a whole family of skeletons on display with a poster that read, "Last treatment day, 11-9-2024." Some skeletons looked like cheerleaders with uniforms and proper poses.
People loved the heartwarming gesture that the house owner made for Tammy. @missbonbuggy commented, "This is phenomenal! Absolutely above and beyond! Go Tammy!" @jessphibs wrote, "Wow! Thank you for giving Tammy such a wonderful celebration on her last day of treatment! You are making a beautiful difference in the world. Sending you healing energy, Tammy." @finagir_and_pimm expressed, "I’m a breast cancer survivor, and this just made my day! Thank you for making Tammy’s days brighter during treatment. And this finale?? It’s incredible! The Bones Family does good work!" @amyjoski said, "You are an amazing human being! I am now ugly crying and I appreciate you so much! Thank you!" @mcmartinec said, "I knew you were going to do something great, but I didn’t think it would bring me to happy tears (ok, sobs!) Way to go, Tammy!"

In another similar story, u/violets-4-Roses shared a note she received from a stranger in a cafe. The mom was at a local cafe with her daughter and baby nephew. It was quite empty and there was just her and this other stranger. The note that was given to her read, "Treat the children to some ice cream. You are a great mum and a good role model. Keep doing what you're doing. Your children are a credit to you." The man also left a couple of $20 bills along with the note. To know the intentions of the man, the woman asked the cafe staff about him and they told her that he usually leaves money behind the counter for a few families' orders as he had a very poor upbringing and wants to help other families.
