Public surprises can bring unexpected joy, but at a Taylor Swift concert, the excitement is doubled for any Swiftie. On May 28, as Taylor sang 'Love Story,' Steph (@stephhsquats) began recording herself and her boyfriend, unaware that she was about to receive a surprise from the love of her life that would bring her to tears. The video has now surpassed 8.3 million likes on Instagram, with online users left awestruck by the sweet moment.

Steph and her boyfriend, Lachie Hynes were at a Taylor Swift concert when she decided to record herself and her boyfriend singing to the pop star's iconic song 'Love Story'. In the video shared by the content creator, Steph is seen enjoying the moment, mouthing the lyrics of the popular song, while her boyfriend appears nervous. Although Steph initially tries to make him feel seen and encourages him to sing along, she is unaware that she is in for a huge surprise planned by her partner. As Taylor Swift sings the lyrics, "Is this in my head? I don't know what to think. He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said, 'Marry me, Juliet,'" Lachie kneels on one knee to pop the big question and make Steph a forever part of his life. Steph, stunned by the surprise, becomes emotional as she embraces her partner, and the stage spotlight flashes on the couple.

The video, captioned "POV: you accidentally film your own proposal," has now garnered millions of views on social media, with more than 28,000 users sharing their wishes for the couple. Steph's reaction — joy mixed with amusement — has been echoed in the 2021 study authored by Lisa B. Hoplock and Danu Anthony Stinson. The study revealed that women who said yes to their proposals often experienced emotions such as surprise, happiness, excitement, and physical reactions like shaking, laughing, and hugging. Some even reported temporary memory loss due to the intensity of the moment. Steph, who was cheerful but clueless about what was coming, went completely blank when she realized that her partner was going on one knee, while the other audience around began filming them. These surprises are full of little things, of tiny observations that truly make a relationship worth having. It's true when they say: to be loved is to be seen.
