Pregnancy is difficult, but the real journey begins only after childbirth. A woman goes through physical, mental, and psychological changes, but keeping all of that aside, she has to prioritize taking care of her newborn, who wants nobody but her. Sure, no amount of help can truly relax the new moms, but when the grannies step up as nannies, that's a different kind of magic. Similarly, when Tallulah Hering (@heyitstallulahx) became a first-time mom, she couldn't take the overwhelming responsibilities of her baby alone. Hence, she called her mom, asking for help, and couldn't be more grateful for how things turned out later.

In her video, shared in September 2025, Hering shared that she asked her mom to come over to her residence when she was "struggling" with her newborn. And later, her mother, who was just happy to help, began showing up at her place every single day. Hering gave birth to a baby boy through C-section, and she was discharged the following day, so the recovery was too intense. Though her husband was extremely supportive, Hering told Newsweek that they both needed someone else to lean on. "I needed a lot of support, but my husband also needed the support, too," she added. The best person Hering could think of was her mom. The grandma, upon hearing that her daughter needed her, stepped up immediately and happily took care of her grandson while Hering could rest. "My grandma did the same for my mom when she had me, so she always wanted to do the same," she added.

Raising newborns isn't exactly easy; in fact, the Orlando Health "Fourth Trimester" survey found that 40% of more than 1200 women surveyed felt overwhelmed, depressed, or anxious post labor. "I have witnessed, through becoming a new mom myself and my work with thousands of postpartum moms, that these are real issues that many new moms go through, but are often afraid to talk about out loud. I think more women should feel empowered to talk about their experiences and be honest about the challenges of having a new baby,"  Megan Gray, MD, and OB/GYN at Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, told Theravive. While most new moms, unfortunately, try to avoid talking about their struggles and asking for help, Hering decided against it, and that very step led to a strong circle of support.

Meanwhile, reacting to Hering's video, @hallucin0genic_lipstick commented, "My mum was like this too. I only had to call and she was round in minutes. I had a terrible postnatal depression after my kid and I called her one night to say I was going to jump out the window, she said, 'Can you make sure it's the ground floor then?' That was 30 years, and it cracks me up now!"

@aquablushgirl shared, "My mum did this for me 14 years ago. She died 16 months ago. I wish she knew how much it meant to me." @reni said, "I had twins for the first time. I was completely clueless and absolutely exhausted. Without my mum, I'm positive I wouldn’t have made it out the other side. She’s my real-life hero." Another mom, @kirsty8.5, commented, "If your mum is anything like mine, she still does this now. My children are 12, 14, 23, and she is always only a text or a phone call away, and then she's here. We are blessed to have her!" However, @mama, who had a terrible experience post childbirth, recalled, "You are so lucky to have a mum who would help you, mine never did. She said you wanted children, you look after them. She was so nasty and I was sick of it, and I eventually walked away from the abuse."
