Pregnancy exerts a significant toll on both a woman's body and her mental well-being. The challenging nine-month journey is rife with moments of stress and strain for expectant mothers. As the third trimester sets in, feelings of nausea become a frequent companion, accompanied by discomfort in various body regions and the emergence of swollen ankles. The favored attire no longer fits comfortably, and the pendulum of mood swings erratically. In a bid to share a slice of her ordeal, a pregnant mother recently unveiled a comical Instagram video, aiming to offer her husband a fleeting taste of the discomfort she endures.

Rini Frey decided to give her husband Shaun a "taste of being 9 months pregnant" and she had an innovative trick up her sleeve. In the viral video with over 400k views, Rini brings out two giant cantaloupes and watermelon, tapes them on Shaun's torso to accurately mimic a pregnant woman's appearance and films him going through the day doing regular tasks. However, these regular tasks become increasingly difficult and Shaun slowly starts to understand the struggles faced by a pregnant woman on a daily basis for 9 months.

After the giant fruits are strapped securely on Shaun, he tries to get comfortable on the couch but can't seem to find a relaxing position with all the additional weight attached to his body. "The grunts are so relatable," Rini says in the video. Next up, he drops something on the floor and squatting down to pick it up becomes a Herculean task. He chuckles in defeat but finally manages to pick up the object with great difficulty.

The "pregnant dad" settles on the toilet seat next and looks clueless asking his wife how she manages to use the toilet paper anyway with her swollen belly getting in the way. When he tries to roll around on the bed, Shaun notes that the simple task of lying down and doing nothing gets challenging for pregnant women as well. "Now I know why you have trouble breathing," Shaun says as he tries to wiggle around and get himself settled on the bed.

The couple, already parents to a little girl named Zoe, further shows the hurdles faced by Shaun while he is in the shower trying to figure out how women with pregnant bellies manage to shave between their legs. Putting on some sneakers suddenly starts looking impossible for Shaun as Rini continues filming him. However, at least there is one upside to having a pregnant belly according to Rini: she can have her "personal little coffee table," as she shows her husband how to balance a coffee cup on his watermelon belly.

People who came across this video left equally funny comments while watching the so-called "pregnant dad" experiencing what it feels like to carry a baby for 9 months. @chelseadowney94 joked: "I am so going to make my boyfriend go through this." @karynstudsrud quipped: "This is soo good! And needs to be made into a product on the market!" @theayerkaydee commented: "That’s why I do slip on some flip flops."

Well, at least every would-be father got the message that they need to support their expecting partner as much as they can through these difficult months so they can celebrate the joy of becoming parents and continue with a healthy parenting style later.
