In fact, a woman who goes by u/Andreasteps on Reddit revealed that she spent an entire night chatting with a stranger at a bar, only to realize he was the city's biggest rock star. The incident happened in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but it wasn't until after he left that the woman realized his true identity — thanks to a bartender's unexpected question. She shared the story on June 9.
Didn't recognize his songs
The woman wanted to wind down after a long day at work, and so, she entered a small local bar. She sat down to enjoy a glass of wine and some live music. Since it was not crowded, a man approached her and asked if he could sit next to her. The woman complied, and they began chatting about music, travel, and street food. She realized he was funny and humble and made her laugh the entire time. The woman wrote, "At one point, I apologized because I didn’t recognize the songs the band was playing." He responded with, "That's probably for the best."
Everyone knew him, except me
The woman couldn't fully understand his response to her comment until he left. Right as the man got up to leave, the bartender came up to ask her if she had taken a photo with him. Befuddled, she asked, "Why would I?" The bartender could not believe their ears. They gave her a strange look because she did not recognize "the biggest rock star in the city." The woman added, "Apparently, everyone knew him, except me." The author still wonders if the rockstar enjoyed the conversation because "for one evening, someone treated him like a completely normal person."
