Although the woman was happy to get a window seat on a flight, soon her fun was spoiled by a fellow passenger.
Getting a window seat on a flight can automatically make long journeys a bit more pleasant. What can be better than cloud gazing or stargazing through the window while being thousands of feet above the ground? But one woman was not lucky enough to enjoy her window seat all thanks to her co-passenger. Fanny Gagnon O'Donnell–who goes by @fanntayeule on TikTok–was taking a three-hour long flight when things went south. O'Donnell, who works as an au pair in Munich, filmed the irritating moment to share with the TikTok community where she sneakily captured her fellow passenger invading her personal space.
"POV: You have the window seat," the text overlay on the video reads as O'Donnell looks at the camera in the first few seconds while biting her nails. "I was really happy to have a window seat and texted my mom this picture," another slide mentions as O'Donnell appears with a huge smile on her face and a thumbs-up in front of the flight window. "The guy next to me didn't know what was personal space," O'Donnell added while filming herself from a lower angle and capturing the hand of a man holding his phone in front of her.
He was trying to take pictures out of the window and for that, he had to hold his phone in front of her face. "I was confused at first but I thought it was going to be a one-time thing. It wasn't," another set of overlay texts mentions as she stares at the camera with bafflement and then takes a sip out of her bottle. The man's arm is still lingering in front of her face as he tries to record the scenery outside multiple times in the three-hour long flight and it gradually gets more uncomfortable and annoying for O'Donnell.
O'Donnell probably had no option other than picking a verbal fight with him or just letting him continue with his photography session. So she "let him do his thing" as she continued filming his multiple attempts to capture countless snaps out of the window. In the end, O'Donnell appears with a scrunched-up face, thanking God that the flight wasn't too long and she could get out of the space soon. The TikTok community was awestruck at the guy who absolutely had no sense of personal space or realization that he was making a fellow passenger uncomfortable.
@laurenosawraur quipped, "Nah because I felt awkward when I had the middle seat and even looked out the window. Felt like I was invading their space just with my vision. I can’t even imagine doing this." @streetjaime commented, "Honestly sometimes I wonder what it would be like to live like this guy instead of my anxiety that has me apologizing for breathing." @mlynne92 wrote, "I'd be telling him if he wanted unrestricted access to the window then he should get a window seat. Personal space is not optional."

In another instance of an uncomfortable flying experience, a woman who was traveling on a flight refused to give up her window seat to a parent who wanted it for her child. Myah Elliot (@yomrants on TikTok) made a video to share her chaotic experience with her audience. "With full confidence, I walked up to 22F and I found there was a woman and her son sitting in my row. So I thought maybe they messed it up," she said in her video. "So I said, 'Hey, I think you are in my seat' even though I knew that she was in my seat. I was being polite because it could have been an honest mistake."
But the lady did nothing except point Elliot toward her actual seat and tell her that she could take hers. "I was like, excuse me! You don't even have the decency to ask if you can stay in my seat, the one that I selected and the one that is on my boarding pass. I looked back at the aisle seat and no, I wanted the window seat I had booked," Elliot continued. Elliot remarked that they should have checked in 24 hours before boarding the flight as there were multiple side-by-side empty seats available back then. Then a guy came up behind Elliot and offered his window seat as he was okay to take up the aisle seat.
