Playing with toys is a luxury that not many kids have and that's why, the solution presented by this mom will have a greater impact.
Toys are both a source of happiness and dread for parents. The amount of joy it brings to the children is endearing but at the same time, the short attention span they have with these toys is a cause of concern. They really test the ideals of parents in terms of wastage. At a time when many in the world are struggling for even the basic amenities, just throwing away these toys does not sit right with many people. Elli–who goes on TikTok by @elli.tamar–gave a simple solution to this problem in her recent video. The solution was a toy library. This facility is like any other library where people can borrow toys instead of books.
Elli captioned the adorable video, "The toy library has become a critical part of our weekly toy rotation." The video starts with her inviting the viewers to her local toy library. She further shared how they are new members, but their experience here makes her regret that they didn't "join sooner." They tick all the boxes. She explained, "They have all the toys you want, but maybe don't want them lying around the house forever." It solves the issue many parents have with wastage and cluttering of toys. It creates a way where multiple children can enjoy the same toy, albeit at different times.
The mother then describes the different toys available in this library. She shows the "little trucks," "free ride-on walker and pusher," as well as many "outdoor toys." Anything the children needed, the facility had it. Their organization was also top-notch. The toys are divided into sand and water play, building and sorting and baby sections. While talking about the baby section, she said, "We've already outgrown that, unfortunately." Then, she proceeds towards activity tables filled with toys through which students can enjoy their time while learning something.

The next destination was puzzles, which would help stimulate young minds intellectually. There are also plenty of musical instruments to nurture talents. The toys she plans on borrowing are "trucks, cars, airplanes," because her toddler loves them. She then went on to describe how membership works in this library. In basic membership, people could borrow four toys at a time for three weeks. Her picks were "little tikes, petrol pumps for some outdoor play, colorful click-together building puzzle and the big building set." The toys have been a hit. Her toddler has not put these down. For her baby, she came home with the musical toys, which she is sure will become boring to them in a week.
The comments section loved the whole concept. @talktothesparkle shared her experience with the toy library, "I'm 32 now and the toy library was one of the greatest things of my childhood. They even had a Super Nintendo." The video opened @brianna.caitlyn to a new concept and she quickly checked her neighborhood, "I didn't know this was a thing! The one near me is only $25 a year." @cheyennebethke0 lamented that her location doesn't seem to have one and expressed her desire to have one near her house, "How do you find them?! We are in Texas and it doesn't seem to be a thing here."
