She was surprised to learn that a simple change in how she hangs her curtains can enhance their look and function extremely well.
It is the simplest things that have the most potential to surprise everyone. It can be as simple as the placeholders in curtain rods in everyone's homes. Elizabeth Villa–who goes by @elizabethvilla185 on TikTok—showed viewers the way she used to hang her curtains and the difference it made after applying the hack. The hack was so easy that the woman was shocked as she did not know anything about it till now. She captioned the video, "I swear I've been living under a rock! Wtf."
Hanging curtains might not have a lot of importance for many, but as per The New York Times, it is an affair that must be taken seriously. Hanging them appropriately can prevent many dangerous scenarios from happening in the household. Villa believed she knew how to hang curtains like the back of her hand but was in for a rude shock when a new life hack proved her wrong. She utilized the popular voiceover from creator Kelly Hurst (@thelifebath) to communicate her message. The voiceover narrated, "Show me the life hack that you randomly saw one day that is now an unconscious standard practice in your life."
In the video, the woman picks up one end of a curtain rod. Then the magic happened when she moved the curtain over the last bit of the rod. After this, she placed the rod, and the curtain was now completely hiding the holder. She gave the full view of how it all came together, and it was evident by her text overlay that she was shocked. The overlaid text on the video was, "Are you kidding me right now?"
In her household, the standard practice was to place the curtains away from the holder, not over it, but apparently, this was all wrong. She was not alone @tipsandtrickswithq was also not aware of this and after discovering the hack, began using it to hide dirty holders. In her opinion, the hack enhanced the look of her curtains. On the other hand, many people in the comment section pointed out how the method that shocked her has actually been a norm. @dsworld18 was one of those who commented, "I thought this was how people always put on curtains."
The comment section shared their opinion about the hack. @savannahyp thanked the woman for informing her about this method and commented, "This just changed my life." @chrystal_harmon quickly asked her husband to employ the hack with their curtains and wrote, "I have never asked my husband to do something so fast." @hey_love_its_me_ immediately went to their house to try the hack out, "not me leaving home early from work just to fix my curtains."
