Woman shares the heartwarming gesture her adoptive mom made for her birth mother

One of the hardest things for a mother to do is give her child up for adoption. However, sometimes, this is a necessary step because circumstances might prevent them from giving the child proper care. Even though it's a pragmatic choice, it is still a difficult decision for most mothers to make. Ballerina and model Alicia Mae Holloway—who goes by @aliciamaeholloway on TikTok—shared a video where she revealed how her adoptive mom helped her biological mother as she grew up. The video has got 6.6 million views on the social media platform.

Holloway begins by stating that it was very hard for her birth mother to give her up for adoption. So, her adoptive mother made a deal with her where she would send a picture of Holloway along with a little note that provided an update on her daughter's life. She then said, "But since my birth mom was planning on telling her whole family and all of her friends that I was stillborn, she didn't want the cards coming to her house simply because she had 3 children already." The woman did not want her three kids to find out about Holloway.

The birth mother proposed a solution wherein her adoptive mom would send her updates to her best friend's house. Holloway stated, "So my entire life, every 6 months, my mom said every June and every December, she would send my birth mom a picture of me." The picture itself would vary, but it would always contain a note with details of how she was doing in life. Holloway shared that she did not know her birth mom was doing this till she was 18 years old and that her birth mom watched her grow up from afar.

Holloway posted a follow-up video where she shared how seeing one of her photos helped her birth mother on a particularly bad day. She got to know about this the first time she met her biological mother a day before she turned 18. The incident took place back in June of 1997 and Holloway had not even turned a year old. Her birth mom picked up the phone and came to know that her mother had passed away.

She was very upset and hung up the phone. However, almost immediately, the phone rang again, and it was her best friend. She said, "Hey, I just received the first picture of the baby." Holloway's birth mother was overwhelmed with emotions because this was the first time she had received contact from the adoptive mother. The birth mother told Holloway how the entire incident showcased how God worked in mysterious ways. People on the platform were also quite surprised at all of these events taking place and shared their opinions about it in the comments section.
