The mom shared how her summer is currently at the 'my kids will not cease fighting and also, we cannot keep food in this home' stage.
Children's summer breaks can be a great opportunity for families to spend some quality time together and make memories. But once people return from their holidays or have relaxed at home enough, they might start to feel as though the days and weeks are getting longer and more jarring. A mom named Sarah–who goes by @sarahmakesmelaugh on TikTok–shared the stages of summer with kids in a video and many people could relate to it. She captioned the video, "Moms, how's summer going? Are your kids fighting all the time?" She joked, "If not please leave this post."
"Summer Mom Wellness Check: What stage of summer are you guys at? Is it 'my kids will not cease fighting and also, we cannot keep food in this home?' Because that's the one I'm deep in that one," the mom shares at the beginning of the video. "The crying and the 'Mom!' I will surely die if I hear one of my children say 'Stop!' one more time. I'll just pass," she continued, making a dramatic passing-out expression. She revealed that she sometimes also takes her kids grocery shopping during the summer break because she simply has to. She doesn't stop them from getting things often either, as she wants to keep them calm.
"They got this giant box of individually packaged Rice Krispie treats because I've given up. They were like, 'Can we get these?' and I was like, 'Yeah, just be nice in the store.' There were 50," the mom said of the incident. She added that the family returned from the grocery store at 4 PM and by 7:53 PM, when she was narrating the incident, half the box had been consumed. "Some neighbors have been in and out, but now they're hiding in my closet, and we're probably going to get mice. Because I was like, 'Are you guys well? Why? Stop doing that,'" the horrified mom admitted.
"I feel like summer is so many days in a row," Sarah remarked. "Am I wrong? Summer's a good time. It is a lot of days right directly in a row. And what if they did like a little bit of school as a treat for me?" she explained. The video received over 62k views and many moms shared how they could totally relate to what Sarah was going through. They also shared the stage of summer they are in.
@ivylvaughn wrote, "We're at the 'considering paying an insane amount of money for two weeks of camp' stage." @lcs.22 commented, "I'm at, 'In one day, we went out to breakfast, went to a birthday party, went to a friend's pool, got our favorite Mexican for dinner.' My son: 'Worst day ever because we left the pool.'" @_..love.lee.._ remarked, "We are at the constantly fighting and constantly swimming stage. Pretty much pool water and tears over here. We're fine..." @kalan_phelps shared, "I'm in the change clothes 500 times a day, eat everything, invite the neighborhood over and beat each other up mode of summer. Bless it." @mbgbens expressed, "I am certain my children have learned to completely tune out my voice. They don't listen to anything I say. They just do what they want and ignore me."
