Having a community of people around you whom you can rely on can make a world of difference when you have kids. They will become individuals you can turn to when you need a friend or support. However, this is not a very common sight these days and many people believe that the "community" or the "village" is dead. Many also find it difficult to make friends with who they can be their true selves. But a mom named Casie Reebs–who goes by @casiereeebs on TikTok–has decided to solve this problem by acting like a '90s mom.

The text overlay of one of her videos reads, "Bringing back the village by acting like a mom of the '90s because we were made for the community." Reebs excitedly shared, "Okay, I did it again! It's crazy. I know. I spontaneously invited someone over for dinner even though I have not prepared. I have not cleaned. This is how we bring the village back. You just let people into your disaster." Explaining her viewpoint further, she said, "So other than picking up this spoon that has been on my dog's bed since this morning, I'm not gonna clean. I'm totally not gonna clean. We're gonna chitchat inside while they play outside, and we're just gonna have an easy spaghetti supper. No fanciness. It's gonna be on paper plates."

In the video, Reebs is dressed in what appears to be an easygoing outfit featuring a black romper and a white ball cap. She explained, "Am I gonna put myself together and look any more presentable than this? Absolutely, not!" The mom then moved the camera a little and showed blankets strewn on the couch and the floor. She expressed that she was not going to fold those either. "Will I straighten up this table? I will not," she said, pointing at a table that had some stuff on it. "I know some of you have friends that you can do this with, but I'm just saying if you don't have friends that you can do this with yet, just start inviting people over randomly. And this is how you bring the village back," the mom concluded.

The mom captioned the video, "'90s mom is my new mom style." The video received over 21k views and close to 2k likes. People took to the comments to express how they would also like to visit a house that looks like the house they lived in. @janlanlon commented, "My best friend and I do this and end up helping each other clean or hang laundry while kids play. Or we sit and watch a show depending on the day." @chelsea_cascketta asked, "I don't understand this concept at all, like what... how?" Reebs replied, "Might require going to the first video in the chain of comments/stitches, but basically, I think IG aesthetic robbed millennial moms of everyday messy life bestie."

@spocksdescendant wrote, "I loathe the 10-minute tidy up. It always brings me a year's worth of problems and anxiety. I lose so much stuff trying to hide it from my own siblings! No more." @daniprnbsn remarked, "I had an old neighbor invite us for dinner when we moved. I cried. I was so grateful to not be around boxes and in a home for a meal." Casie has shared a series of videos that begins with "We're building the village again, tell a friend."
