To her surprise, the officer who issued the ticket did not show up, resulting in her case being dismissed and no payment required.
What's the best hack you have come up with for speeding tickets? This woman's intriguing approach to handling the issue has propelled her to fame on TikTok. It's worth noting that her idea appears to be not only cost-effective but also highly efficient, provided one is fortunate enough to employ it. Trinity Jackson—who goes by @trinityjackson on TikTok—posted a video in which she talks about how she got rid of the ticket.
"This is your sign to show up to court for your traffic ticket," says Jackson. She goes on to explain that she got this ticket in February for $300. "I got to court the first time, they asked me do you want to be tried by jury /judge, pay the ticket or do you want to do defensive driving? Defensive driving was $150, paying the ticket was three something, trial by jury in 3 or 6 months."
She opted for trial by jury and the case came up three months later. "This morning I walk into the court and sit down, she is issuing warrants to anyone who didn't show up, warrant, warrant. she calls Trinity Jackson and I walk up there, your case is dismissed. You are free to go," says Jackson. Jackson did not have to pay anything for her speeding ticket. "The officers, 9 times out of 10 who gave you a ticket, have to be there to fight the ticket. 'Yes, she did this, this happened.' A lot of officers are not going to show up in court," continues the TikTok user.
She goes on to add that she checked with one of the officers, who told her that she herself has never been to court. The officer asked her to just show up at court.
The video garnered more than 360 thousand views on TikTok and it is captioned, "Case dismissed." People on the social media platform shared their own experiences. @sunshinesou1 commented, "Well, my officer showed up so I paid the fines." @itoyacollins wrote, "This happened to me once! The officer couldn’t remember pulling me over so I got it dismissed!"@watsiidancetoo3 said, "Totally depends on where you live! VA has enough small counties that have police officers who love coming to court instead of being on the road." @cramerrebecca pointed out, "I got a speeding ticket about a month ago and just went to court yesterday and got it reduced to a parking ticket."
