She begins the video by saying, “My fellow Americans, I need everybody to know this tip. My PSA announcement: I’ve been needing to renew my passport since February 2024. It’s currently August 2024, that is how long I’ve been procrastinating.” She went on to say that she had filled out half of the paperwork and had to mail in her photos and then wait for 6-8 weeks. However, she went to the official website to check the requirements and she saw that the US State Department was testing a beta program for renewing passports.

Caneel filed her application online. “You can submit a digital photo of yourself just taken in front of a white wall" and she called it a "fake photo ID." She said that she submitted her application on August 14 and she was surprised that she got her passport renewed by August 23. “Nine days...six to eight weeks, my a**,” she expressed. “You can do it all online, all online. Finally, we’re in the 21st century.” She captioned the post, "Breaking news alert" and has about 815.8k views on the video. People in the comments shared their experience with applying online.

@itssaraseifert commented, "Applied for my very first passport 7/31 and got it 8/21. Didn’t pay for it to be expedited. They’re moving quick." @cireincognito wrote, "I just got my first passport and global entry. The global entry interview was like 10-15 minutes with a couple of questions verifying my residence and running your fingerprints through a criminal check." @sarah.acts.chi expressed, "If this is real, you just saved me. I have everything printed and just ordered my physical photos to mail in. @hayygurrl said, "Global Entry too, I was reading everyone saying they waited months after their interview. I got my approval email in the parking lot when I was leaving my interview lol card will be here in a few days." @imperfectlyperfectmess commented, "With doing it online the information is automatically uploaded to the system, they just have to verify it and approve it. So the process is much quicker. Then when it’s paper mail and them handing to upload it to the system."

In another story, a woman named Gabriela found her old passport from when she was a baby and the photograph shocked the people online. Gabriel said that she was born in Guadalaraja around her mom's side of the family. Her mother had apparently run away from Mexico to escape her toxic relationship with her father when she was eight months pregnant. The mother applied for a joint Mexican passport that would be valid for both her and her daughter so that they could go to Los Angeles. Gabriela shared that it used to be common in the 80s to have joint passports. @ogkerrynotkellsaid, "My first passport photo was taken with my mother and 3 siblings all in one shot." @amalia._oliveira pointed out, "This lowkey makes sense, though. 'Cause what if you were being kidnapped with a fake passport as a baby? Having your mother/parent/legal guardian on the passport until you are old enough to travel alone makes sense."
