The moment her partner spoke those words, she realized she had somehow made a big mistake—just seventy seconds into their marriage.
In many cases, a few words from someone can be a big sign about their feelings—and sometimes, it hits home for the other person. A woman, married for just 70 seconds, recalled how two words from her husband ruined her wedding day. Eleven years later, she shared her story, explaining how she immediately regretted her decision to marry him that day. The woman, known as @noiwontthanks on TikTok, took to the platform to recount the moment.
"My husband ruined our wedding day, and this story has haunted me for like 11 years. I just want to tell it," the woman began. After seeing numerous comments and videos from women who realized they made a mistake on their wedding day, she felt compelled to share her own experience. She expressed that maybe this needs to be normalized, and this was her attempt to do so. "I never wanted a big wedding. I never wanted people looking at me as I walked down the aisle or anything like that. So we just went to the magistrate," she recounted. The couple had been dating for only four months when they decided to get married.
"I was feeling good and very happy. We had been married about 60 seconds when the judge said, 'I love doing these ceremonies, and it would just make me so happy if you guys came back to see me in 10 years and let me know that everything is good,'" she revealed. The bride assured the judge she’d love to do that, joking she’d hopefully still fit in her wedding dress. "My husband of about 70 seconds, did not miss a beat and he said, 'Or smaller,'" she added, "I died inside and I froze like a statue. I just felt like I couldn't even breathe." The woman looked at her husband, hoping for a hint that he was joking or that she had misheard him. "I looked at the judge and he was floored," she shared.
"He said, 'Son, you just got married,'" she recalled. In that moment, the woman’s heart broke as she realized she hadn’t imagined it—what he had said was not okay. Despite her feelings, she stayed with her husband for ten years. "He convinced me that I was crazy and dramatic, and I’m none of those things, actually. He hated my guts from the beginning," she continued. People flooded the comments section of her video, sharing their own stories and offering their support.

Best decision of my life." @msamps commented, "No judgment, for those watching and for educational purposes only, the keywords here are 'four months.'" @lessncraig remarked, "Same. He always hated me. Now that we’re divorced he claims he’s still in love with me but the truth is, he hates me more than anyone else in the whole world." @am1111110 shared, "I cried in the bathroom before walking down the aisle. Shouldn’t have done it. Divorcing now after 16 years."
