You know an employer is inherently good when they treat you well irrespective of whether you contribute to their business. However, it is also quite uncommon, which is probably why this woman was surprised when a company responded with a positive email to her when she informed them that she was declining their job offer. Stephanie–who goes by @essenceofstephanie on TikTok–loved the email so much that she took to the platform to share the response with her followers.

She captioned the video, "LOL, my little ego be pumping iron today." She began by showing the screenshot of the email and said, "Okay, this is absolutely the f***ing best. This is the email that was sent to me from the company that I just told that I wasn't going to take their employment offer because I got a better one."

Stephanie then read the email. "Hi Stephanie, as discussed and agreed on the phone," the email read, before going on to list a few points, "One... we are very very sad," Stephanie read and chuckled. "Two... I am happy for your great opportunity and wish you all the very best." The employer added in the third point that they would like to keep in touch and asked Stephanie to reach out if things were not as expected at her new place.

The fourth and final point on the list joked about Stephanie sending a clone of herself their way. "Four...you will send our way any 'amazing clone of yours' that you will meet your way," the email read before wishing her well. Many responded to the video, which was later reposted on Instagram by @humorous_resources, and talked about how cool the employer's response was. "That's awesome! I'm so glad you got this great feedback too! All the best!" wrote @dbaffs_. "I like this. It's corny but human. How often do we see people complaining (and rightfully!) that the recruiting and onboarding process is heartless, impersonal and cold? Then, when they go another way and try to be friendly and funny, people complain. She will never forget this interaction. You never know what the future holds or when paths with a person or team or company will cross again," added @nononah76.

In a somewhat similar rejection story, u/SIP-BOSS shared a picture of an email that a company called DoorLoop sent after the candidate did not get selected for a position. "Thank you again for investing your time and effort with DoorLoop. You are obviously extremely talented, and we are honored that you considered us," the email read. "Although it was not an easy decision for us, as we were impressed by your experience, we decided to go in another direction for this role," the employer added in the email.

The email did not end there, with the employer providing instances of the most successful businesses that have faced rejection in the past. "Walt Disney was fired because his editor said he 'lacked imagination and had no good ideas,'" they wrote, adding that "Elon Musk was rejected from several emerging tech companies, including Netscape." Many took to the comments to praise the efforts put in by the employer to make the candidate feel valued. "This email is fine. Having a little more humanity in the workplace is what we WANT," wrote, u/RedPayaso1.
