Mistakes are inevitable as we go through life. But these mistakes help us learn and eventually become a wiser version of ourselves. That is probably why they say, "The older you get the wiser you are." It is only natural for us to wonder why we did not know the things we learned as adults. May it be a simple everyday hack or crucial health insights, we all have learned from the mistakes we made in our past or when we were young. Jennifer Latch, a 44-year-old holistic health preacher who goes on TikTok by @jenniferlatch, recently shared a few things she wished she had learned in her youth. With nearly 8 million views, this viral video was relatable to many on social media.

"What I wish I'd known about my body when I was 19 instead of 44," began Latch. Her first life lesson was, "Don't pop your pimples. You're going to think that it's going to help. It never helps. You're just going to scar and permanently damage your skin." Latch then suggested people get pimple patches instead. Her next lesson was for people who are about to start the habit of smoking, thinking they could just stop with one cigarette a day. "You're going to quickly accelerate to a pack a day. So, if you even started vaping or anything like that, it would all of a sudden be max levels. Don't even start," she said.

Latch learned quite later in life that the texture of our hair changes every seven years or so due to hormonal shifts. She said it can go from curly to straight to wavy on a cycle. Her next lesson was not to take too long to get things like rashes checked out and she said, "Just go to the doctor." "It is correct to have a certain degree of wariness concerning traditional or Western medicine, but you cannot go the completely holistic or natural route and completely ignore Western medicine. You have to have a balance of both," mentioned Latch. Next, she mentioned that adding salt or a few drops of lemon juice to food can make it taste better.

Finally, Latch revealed a priceless lesson that every person needs to know. "Your value is not based on what size jeans you can fit into," she said. Though she wished she had learned these facts quite early in her life, Latch never regretted the learning process. Her videos are usually about embracing the process of aging and she claims that "Aging is cool." More than 2k comments came in and many users shared a similar viewpoint as Latch. Some younger users even expressed their gratitude towards Latch for spreading these messages.

"The hair thing is so real. My hair was straight but messy. I don't know how to explain and now it's curly and I'm like, what happened???" commented @herimarrrr_947. "The balance!!! Goodness, it feels so good to see someone else recognize this. Yes, it has its many cons. But without it, many of us would not be alive," wrote @ttphonehome69. "As a 19-year-old, thank you. Some of these I didn't know," wrote @alluringspace.
