A man who was taking his car out of the parking had a meltdown and started screaming and threatening a woman but she knew exactly what to do in that situation.

Incidents of road rage are rising across America and are a cause for concern since more than half of all accidents are caused by aggressive driving. A heated argument between motorists can turn physical in the blink of an eye and lead to even more serious consequences. This is why u/Minkiemink on Reddit decided to choose a non-violent solution to get herself out of a situation that could have turned ugly. In a post now taken down, she shared a frightful incident about the time a man was threatening to attack her physically in the middle of the road. The woman started her post by recalling how she was driving home that day while maintaining her speed.

All of a sudden a guy pulled up in front of her from a parking space at the curb and she almost hit him because the man didn't have his turn signal lights on. "He then proceeds in front of me very slowly, blocking the flow of traffic, weaving back and forth. He then starts to turn right, so I slow even more. Then he very abruptly veers in front of me, wildly to the left, cutting me off completely. So I slam on my brakes and honk my horn once to warn him," she wrote in her post.

"He stops his car literally sideways, in the middle of the street, blocking me and blocking the traffic in both directions. Then he rolls down his window and starts flipping me off and commences to scream at me. I sit there in my car, wondering if he has lost his mind," the post continued. The man stepped out of his car and continued to scream at the woman, even threatening to beat her up. She knew better than to get into a physical fight with the man and had an alternate plan in her mind. "I calmly pick up my phone, do not roll down my window, my car doors are locked and I simply started recording him," the woman further wrote. "The minute he sees me recording him on my cell phone, he abruptly stops screaming."

The man's attitude shifted all of a sudden and he meekly tried to explain himself while the woman in the car continued to record his antics. When the man noticed that the woman was not putting down her phone or responding to him, he quietly got back to his car and drove off in the opposite direction. "It's funny how the threat of making someone like him go viral, possibly lose his job and exposing him to the world, almost immediately altered what could have been a police report and an assault," the post concluded as she called the man a "frightened rabbit who turned his tail and ran away terrified."

In an update to the incident, the woman mentioned reporting the man to the police. Even though she had his face on film, she couldn't capture his license plate. "The police apologized and said there wasn't much they could do because other than yelling, he didn't physically do anything to me and my car. But at least there is a record of his face and car if he ever pulls this stunt again," she wrote. In a second update, she clarified that she wasn't going to post the man's video and ruin his life like many fellow Reddit users expected her to. The woman was just glad that the man learned a hard lesson in the right way. The Reddit community left a lot of advice for the lady to deal with potentially dangerous situations like that in the future.

u/PrincessPindy wrote, "Very smart not to get out of the car. Years of watching Judge Judy, she always said 'except for the fact that you go out of your car, the fight would not have happened.'" u/Drenosa commented, "Go pettier and report him. You got his description, car and hopefully his license plate too. Reckless driving or endangerment isn't something you should let go. Not to mention the physical threat of violence he made." u/Hminney added, "He's a danger to traffic and safety and he will be again. If you have dashcam footage of his driving that would help too."
