TikTok user @adminandeve was happy when she was offered a job during her interview. But as she spotted red flags in her employer, she declined the job offer. As for what these red flags were, she discussed this in a new video. Her would-be boss did not behave very well with his recent employees. "I walk in and sit outside his office," the TikTok user explained. “And he’s immediately berating someone for 15 minutes before my interview.” He was even passive-aggressive and not "very nice" to his employee as he handed out paperwork to her, she said.

The boss even asked her a question that showed that he wanted to know if she was pregnant. “One of the questions on this weird paper was ‘Do you have any upcoming life events?'” she was asked. And she came to know that her assumption was correct. “Sure enough, I get in there and he’s like ‘Well my last assistant, had to let her go,'” the user’s potential employer allegedly told her. "She got pregnant, had a kid, had to start working from home and that doesn’t work for me."

According to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, "Pregnancy discrimination is against the law. The EEOC enforces two federal laws that protect job applicants and employees who are pregnant. It is unlawful to harass a worker because of pregnancy, childbirth, or a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth or because of a pregnancy-related physical or mental disability." These were not the only red flags in the workplace. The TikTok user also revealed that everyone in that workplace looked unhappy. “I saw some of the people that were working there and the look of existential dread on their faces was bad,” she added. For these reasons, she decided against taking the job.

The video became viral and received over 209.3k views, 15k likes and 422 comments. “HR girlie here. They’re not allowed to ask you about upcoming ‘life events,’ lol,” @Nichole commented. @Grisel Infante commented, “Nothing but red flags there... R U N don't walk away."

“RUN,” @RJ aka The Fandom Guy said. "WTF is seriously wrong with today's employers? *throws up hands*" @Pixelspixel wrote. @Efn commented, "Getting a job on the spot is a red flag." @k stated, "That's such an odd question. Definitely, discrimination to not hire pregnant women so he tried to find a way around it. Wow."

As for jobs and red flags, in another story, after posting a video sharing her experience at the worst job interview she'd had, a TikTok user and branding professional (@natalyahaddix) went viral, accusing the company of disrespecting their potential employees. Haddix claimed that after a Miami-based business named Brand IQ chose her application and requested an in-person interview rather than a Zoom call, the problems began. “I have never been so disrespected in my life,” she said.

Haddix observed multiple red flags when she was researching the company, saying that its mission, vision, brand and values were not there. “I see that the position is for marketing coordinator, which is not an entry-level position, and this is a position that requires experience, and they want to pay $36,000 to $38,000 in Miami, Florida,” she added. "After my interview time slot has gone and passed and I’m still sitting, I’m like, what am I doing here? So I ask the girl, ‘What is this process? What is going on?' This is an interview." Haddix said she was not there for this disrespect and walked out of the office.
