Many people from the older generations took to the comments to express how this could be problematic.

When a person is just starting their career, they might receive a bunch of advice on how to succeed or to go that extra mile to make things work in their favor. Although most advice might come from a good place, not everything is necessarily healthy to have a balanced work and personal life. Similarly, a woman who thinks people should log into their work email on their cellphones if they want to succeed is receiving backlash on the internet. The millennial, Peggy—who goes by @peggy__z on TikTok—took to the platform to share her thoughts on young people and their way of working.

"Do people seriously not have their work emails on their cell phones?" Peggy began. "What is up with these 20-something-year-olds and not having their work email connected to their cell phones?" She added, "It's 2024, here's a work tip, a life tip. If you are just starting out and want to succeed in life, maybe go that extra mile and connect your work email to your cell phone so you can respond, especially if you are in sales," Peggy shared.

"Just a thought, just a thought," the millennial expressed. "That's all, bye." The video's caption read, "I can't anymore...what happened to working." The video received more than 17k views and over 970 comments. People took to the comments to disagree with what Peggy proposed. Even people from the older generations expressed that people should not have to respond to emails or such after their working hours are over and it is necessary to have a work-life balance.

@tenna_55 wrote, "Working outside of your normal hours does not equal success. Success in work does not equal happiness. And it's not healthy!" @buckeyetiffany commented, "Absolutely not. Work is work and home is home. Sincerely, a 40-something-year-old millennial who is glad that Gen Z is setting boundaries." @palmbeachliving remarked, "Work email should only be responded to on the equipment provided by the job. I think it’s outrageous to put your work email on your cell phone." @ara1577 shared, "Absolutely not - when I walk away from work, I'm OFF WORK. I have a company cell phone for that purpose during business hours, but never on my personal phone." @mwhittoncowan expressed, "I have my work email on my cell, not so I can work after hours but so I can work during hours wherever I am without being tied to my computer."

The creator responded to the comment and wrote, "THIS! That is what I was implying! I'm not asking for after-hours. That's on the individual person." @tomatoes2030 disclosed, "I didn’t add my work email to my personal phone for the first five years. I wanted to keep them separate and didn't need to add it until I became important enough that my responses matter." @msgreen003 revealed, "I did have it, but I decided my peace was more important. I'm a millennial. I don't need to respond outside of my contract hours. I'll get to it during my hours. If they want email on my phone, they can pay my cell bill. Until then, nope, no thanks."
