'I don’t know that she predicted it, but she could sense something was wrong.'

One of the greatest attributes of love is to be selfless, and dogs are one of the creatures that can offer this trait to the fullest. Your pet pal will cling to you and notice everything about you, maybe even sniff you a billion times. And sometimes, like in the case of a woman named Kenzie Seymour, it can save your life. She noticed her Brittany–Keeshond mix, Sunny, behaving strangely as she sat beside her pet parent, per Newsweek. Right enough, the very next day, the woman received an unbelievable diagnosis. In her video posted on November 25, Seymour captured her canine sitting beside her, but she wasn’t still and comfortable. She seemed to be all over the place.

The text overlay read, “My dog kept climbing behind me and wouldn't leave my neck alone.” She further explained that her dog’s behavior seemed like she was making gestures. It wasn’t just rough play or cuddling. “She wouldn’t stop whining, licking excessively, hovering and lying behind me, propping herself on my back, neck and shoulders,” she noted. Dogs are geniuses when it comes to detecting that something’s wrong. According to the St. Francisville Animal Hospital, the furry pals know when their humans are sick. Call it instinct, a deep emotional bond, or just superb intelligence, they know when something isn’t right.

The main reason would be their sense of smell. Canines have 300 million olfactory receptors in their noses, compared to a mere six million in humans. This helps them detect even the smallest change in odor or scent of their pet parents, which can often be caused by a change in the hormones, bodily systems, or due to illness. Moreover, they also observe behavior and can underline things before we even realize. Seymour paid heed to Sunny’s weirdness as the canine had previously helped her detect health issues. “She does the same thing with my leg that has permanent chronic blood clot damage,” she explained.
Seymour decided to head to the emergency room and figure out what was wrong. Despite the medics urging that she was fine, she insisted on a CT scan, which revealed an unbelievable diagnosis — a brain aneurysm. “I don’t know that she predicted it, but she could sense something was wrong,” Seymour remarked. She has started consulting medical professionals and is taking it “day by day.” However, before everything else, she is grateful for her canine who has relentlessly been by her side.

“Sunny always knows when mama’s not doing okay. She’s such a good girl,” she wrote in her caption. Fellow pet parents understood the bond that led to this observation and revelation. @mjh7777700 said, “Everyone is taught that angels have wings, but the lucky ones of us find they have 4 paws.” @corrynjoy added, “Such a good girl! Scottie did this with my seizures... dogs are such a gift!” @piratekieran remarked, “I had a similar experience recently with a non-trained dog alerting me. She was able to predict an episode of 'syncope' before I even felt it, and potentially saved me from what could have been hours of coming in and out of consciousness. Dogs are so cool.”
