Anyone suffering from migraines knows how painful they can be. From locking yourself in a dark room to cold packs to avoiding any other triggers can be tricky and it also severely hampers one's quality of life. For this reason, a TikTok user has come up with an unconventional way to cure migraine headaches. @andreaeder has suffered from these headaches for the longest time. She is not alone in this as over 35 million Americans suffer from migraines. While migraines are most closely associated with headaches, they also cause other symptoms such as nausea, photosensitivity, dizziness, and tiredness. “Migraines are a neurological disease that involves nerve pathways and chemicals,” as per a Penn Medicine study.
“All you gotta do is get as hot of water as you can handle, and soak your feet in the water,” said Andrea. “A lot of people said mustard. I didn’t have mustard, so I just went the hot water route. When I tell you that four minutes ago my eyes were shaking and I couldn’t see straight…I am forever grateful to the human beings who have shared this on TikTok," she added. As per Gannady Raskin, dean of the School of Naturopathic Medicine at Bastyr University, the hot water distributes blood throughout our bodies and this relaxes our heads. Mustard oil helps relax our skin and remove our attention from the headache, reported ABC News. Andrea's viewers were very happy with the advice as they were tired of trying various ways to get rid of the painful headaches.
