Woman rents her entire home and moves into a small backyard house to reduce expenses

The rising need for a good financial structure calls for working smart over working hard. That is exactly what consultant, entrepreneur and digital marketing expert Precious Price did. In an interview with My Modern Met, Price talked about how innovatively she managed to build her financial structure by renting her main house and settling in a backyard home. As a digital marketing expert, she managed to purchase her first home. However, Price had other smarter plans. She prudently transformed her home into an investment that got her to the top. The woman had built a tiny home in her backyard back when she was 25 years old.

After initially renting it to tourists, she decided to lodge there herself and rent her bigger space as a larger financial decision. The woman explained that the cause for a change in decisions was due to the financially challenging times COVID brought, in addition to the dwelling economic difficulties. As an entrepreneur and more, she is out to help others find their ideal investment and work smart. "I first heard about tiny living and minimalism back in 2018 after stumbling on a few YouTube creators who were documenting their tiny living journeys in converted vans and RVs," said the expert.

She added that while she toyed with the idea, once she brought her own home, she knew the extra backyard space had much productivity in disguise. Revealing more about the root of her financial shrewdness, Price said, "I didn't grow up wealthy or rich by far, but my parents just made it a point to teach both myself and all of my siblings the principles of budgeting, saving, credit and even entrepreneurship." Expressing the hardships of getting her unique project started, she said, "It's easy to think you can just order a structure online, have it delivered and boom, you're good. But there is so much that needs to happen prior to any shovel hitting the ground."

Price also mentioned that she had her fair share of pros and cons to deal with on account of living in a relatively smaller structure. "The best thing about living in a tiny home has got to be never truly misplacing anything. The worst part would have to be whenever I get an urge to have friends over. I used to enjoy hosting holiday parties or gatherings, but with the limited space, I've had to cut back," Price said. She highlighted her experience by saying, "It has allowed me to get a bit creative though and now I incorporate the outdoor/backyard area into any plans for gatherings. It's all about balance."

When asked about her learnings and insights, Price said, "The biggest change has been eradicating my housing expenses, which has always been a goal of mine. From a personal perspective, this move into the backyard tiny home has pushed me deeper into a sense of gratitude—fully realizing and trusting that I have everything I need in this season of my life." Sharing her journey on her Instagram account, @preciousprice, the woman revealed the amount of self-confidence and planning her big decision required. Price has truly made her dream come true and offered an authentic idea of investment and financial understanding.
